Dear Parents and Guardians, February 21, 2023

Today in class, we discussed what it means to be a good digital citizen and how

important “Being Kind Online” is. I have attached a copy of the infographic that was given to

your students during this lesson. We will begin using many different electronic devices in our

classroom throughout our instruction for various activities. It is important that students are well-

educated on how to use these devices in a responsible manner. In my classroom, I will stress the

importance of being kind to others online, by communicating in a respectful and positive way.

Students will also be encouraged to stand up for themselves and others, or offer help when

needed. Students are always taught to be respectful and kind in my classroom, and we will

translate this to online, as well. The infographic gives you a look into what we are discussing in

the classroom, and some online resources for you to view, as well. Students will sometimes be

using these devices at home, so both parents and educators will be involved in this instruction of

digital citizenship! As always, please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

Hoy en clase, discutimos lo que significa ser un buen ciudadano digital y cuán importante

es "Ser amable en línea". Adjunto una copia de la infografía que se entregó a sus alumnos

durante esta lección. Comenzaremos a usar muchos dispositivos electrónicos diferentes en

nuestro salón de clases a lo largo de nuestra instrucción para diversas actividades. Es importante

que los estudiantes estén bien educados sobre cómo usar estos dispositivos de manera

responsable. En mi salón de clases, enfatizaré la importancia de ser amable con los demás en

línea, comunicándome de manera respetuosa y positiva. También se alentará a los estudiantes a

que se defiendan a sí mismos y a los demás, u ofrezcan ayuda cuando sea necesario. A los

estudiantes siempre se les enseña a ser respetuosos y amables en mi salón de clases, y también

traduciremos esto en línea. La infografía le da un vistazo a lo que estamos discutiendo en el salón

de clases y también algunos recursos en línea para que los vea. Los estudiantes a veces usarán

estos dispositivos en casa, ¡así que tanto los padres como los educadores estarán involucrados en
