Prólogo
Hemos emprendido un camino ambicioso: sentar las bases para una escuela secundaria
pública inclusiva y de calidad, una escuela que desafíe las diferencias, que profundice los
vínculos y que nos permita alcanzar mayor igualdad social y educativa para nuestros jóvenes.
En este contexto, el Programa Conectar Igualdad, creado por decreto del gobierno nacional
N.º 459/10, surge como una política destinada a favorecer la inclusión social y educativa
a partir de acciones que aseguren el acceso y promuevan el uso de las tic en las escuelas
secundarias, en las escuelas de educación especial y entre estudiantes y profesores de los
últimos años de los Institutos Superiores de Formación Docente.
Tres millones de alumnos de los cuales somos responsables hoy integran el programa de
inclusión digital. Un programa en el que el Estado asume el compromiso de poner al alcance
de todos y todas la posibilidad de acceder a un uso efectivo de las nuevas tecnologías.
Un programa que le otorga a la escuela el desafío de ofrecer herramientas cognitivas y el
desarrollo de competencias para actuar de modo crítico, creativo, reflexivo y responsable
frente a la información y sus usos para la construcción de conocimientos socialmente válidos.
En nuestro país, esta responsabilidad cobró vida dentro de la Ley de Educación Nacional
N.º 26.206. En efecto, las veinticuatro jurisdicciones vienen desarrollando de manera conjunta
la implementación del programa en el marco de las políticas del Ministerio de Educación de la
Nación, superando las diferencias políticas con miras a lograr este objetivo estratégico.
Para que esta decisión tenga un impacto efectivo, resulta fundamental recuperar
la centralidad de las prácticas de enseñanza, dotarlas de nuevos sentidos y ponerlas a favor
de otros modos de trabajo con el conocimiento escolar. Para ello, la autoridad pedagógica
de la escuela y sus docentes necesita ser fortalecida y repensada en el marco de la renovación
del formato escolar de nuestras escuelas secundarias.
Sabemos que solo con equipamiento e infraestructura no alcanza para incorporar las tic
en el aula ni para generar aprendizajes más relevantes en los estudiantes. Por ello, los
docentes son figuras clave en los procesos de incorporación del recurso tecnológico al trabajo
pedagógico de la escuela. En consecuencia, la incorporación de las nuevas tecnologías, como
parte de un proceso de innovación pedagógica, requiere, entre otras cuestiones, instancias de
formación continua, acompañamiento y materiales de apoyo que permitan asistir y sostener
el desafío que esta tarea representa.

Somos conscientes de que el universo de docentes es heterogéneo y lo celebramos pues ello
indica la diversidad cultural de nuestro país. Por lo tanto, de los materiales que en esta
oportunidad ponemos a disposición, cada uno podrá tomar lo que le resulte de utilidad de
acuerdo con el punto de partida en el que se encuentra.
Los materiales que aquí se presentan complementan las alternativas de desarrollo profesional
y forman parte de una serie destinada a brindar apoyo a los docentes en el uso de las
computadoras portátiles en las aulas, en el marco del Programa Conectar Igualdad. Esta
es la segunda serie que les presentamos a los docentes, los directivos, los bibliotecarios, las
familias y toda la comunidad educativa. En esta segunda etapa se privilegió la articulación
directa de contenidos pedagógicos y tecnológicos y las prácticas del aula o la escuela; en todos
los materiales se intenta brindar al docente sugerencias didácticas muy concretas para el
uso de las tic y a la vez información general para enmarcar el proceso del que están siendo
protagonistas en la sociedad del conocimiento.
De esta manera, el Estado Nacional acompaña la progresiva apropiación de las tic para
mejorar prácticas habituales y explorar otras nuevas, con el fin de optimizar la calidad
educativa y formar a los estudiantes para el desafío del mundo que los espera como adultos.
Deseamos que este importante avance en la historia de la educación argentina sea una
celebración compartida, como parte de una política nacional y federal que tiene como uno de
sus ejes fundamentales a la educación con inclusión y justicia social.

A partir de estos desarrollos conceptuales, en cada uno de los materiales, especialistas
de cada disciplina proponen una detallada guía de uso, plantean una actividad modelo y
sugieren recursos asociándolos a ocho temas nodales de la disciplina.

1 Introducción al modelo tpack
Para fomentar la integración y articulación con las demás áreas curriculares, este ma-
nual para docentes de inglés se ha escrito en español. Solamente el texto de la secuencia
didáctica modélica y las decisiones didáctico-pedagógicas están expresadas en inglés, por
ser lo específico del propósito de este manual. Sin embargo, también se adjunta una des-
cripción en español, para facilitar el acceso a los docentes de otras disciplinas.
El uso de la lengua de escolarización puede facilitarles a los docentes de otras lenguas
extranjeras acceder a la información aquí contenida y establecer conexiones con las proble-
máticas propias del idioma que enseñan, ya que se comparte un mismo contexto exolingüe.
Marco conceptual
Desde hace algunas décadas, la enseñanza del inglés se ha enriquecido con los aportes
de las tic (Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación). Las posibilidades ofrecidas
por las tic, y su cada vez mayor disponibilidad y accesibilidad, trajeron aparejado mode-
los educativos novedosos, hasta entonces nunca experimentados, como el que describe
Warschauer (2006):

Ahora, los educadores, con la posibilidad de trabajar con tecnología
informática en el aula, deben aprender a operar los programas de autor
instalados en las netbooks, adoptar y adaptar recursos didácticos digita-
les, y también integrar la tecnología en su labor diaria, de modo tal que se
torne un recurso invisible en el aula, como la tiza y el pizarrón.
La enseñanza del inglés, enriquecida con las tic en el aula, presenta un
escenario nunca experimentado anteriormente en las escuelas secundarias
estatales argentinas. Las aulas se pueden abrir al mundo y los alumnos
pueden desarrollar una visión intercultural de la vida; diversos recursos
multimedia, significativos por su input multisensorial, pueden enriquecer
el contexto de aprendizaje exolingüe y favorecer distintos estilos de apren-
dizaje e inteligencias. Así, los alumnos pueden convertirse en aprendientes
autónomos, capaces de incorporar los saberes y el uso de las herramientas,
algunas de las cuales se utilizarán en trabajos que aún no se han creado.

Como ya se ha mencionado, el tpack está formado por tres componen-
tes interrelacionados.

Publishing Co. en críticos pragmáticos tecnológicamente informados. La autora sostiene
que no es necesario un conocimiento experto sobre las tic para utilizarlas
con fines pedagógicos en las clases de lengua extranjera. Los docentes,
teniendo en cuenta sus objetivos de enseñanza, deberán adaptar muchas
de las herramientas tecnológicas que van a utilizar en sus clases antes de
adoptarlas, puesto que la mayoría de ellas no han sido pensadas y creadas
con fines pedagógicos.
Según Mishra y Koehler, el conocimiento tecnológico, pedagógico y
disciplinar debería permitirle a un docente desarrollar estrategias y formas
de representar el conocimiento apropiadas y contextualizadas para sus
alumnos. Para lograrlo, proponen un abordaje de la formación docente
que denominan Learning Technology by Design, que procura que los docentes
aprendan cómo enseñar con tecnología, “diseñando tecnología”, en un
contexto de trabajo auténtico que los enfrenta a una práctica real.
Siguiendo ese abordaje, en este manual, el lector encontrará que a par-
tir de una secuencia didáctica modélica se reflexionará sobre la toma de
decisiones curriculares, pedagógicas y tecnológicas, con el fin de proveer-
les a los docentes sugerencias disciplinares, técnico-pedagógicas para la
incorporación de las tic en la enseñanza de las lenguas extranjeras.

2 Secuencia
didáctica modélica
De acuerdo con el marco teórico planteado, el docente utilizará y aplicará su saber so-
bre la lengua extranjera y, a partir de este contenido disciplinar, su conocimiento de cómo
enseñar la lengua extranjera (conocimiento didáctico-pedagógico) y su conocimiento so-
bre el uso de las tic (conocimiento tecnológico) en el momento de pensar las secuencias
didácticas para implementar en sus clases. Estas deberán estar enmarcadas en los enfo-
ques y principios de enseñanza, acuerdos federales y demás prescripciones de los diseños
curriculares vigentes en cada jurisdicción.
La secuencia didáctica que se encuentra a continuación está planteada desde el en-
foque metodológico del aprendizaje por tareas, con una perspectiva intercultural y pluri-
lingüe. En esta perspectiva, se enfatiza la dimensión formativa de la enseñanza de lengua
extranjera: la construcción de la ciudadanía, la contribución a prácticas de oralidad, lec-
tura y escritura y, en consecuencia, la socialización lingüística.
La secuencia está diseñada en torno a la unidad 2 de What’s Up? 1, de la editorial
Pearson, disponible entre los libros entregados en las escuelas estatales por el Ministe-
rio de Educación de la Nación. La unidad elegida es solo un ejemplo, ya que –como en
la mayoría de los materiales educativos para la enseñanza de una lengua extranjera– se
trabaja a partir de un tema que se aborda desde textos escritos y orales. En esta unidad
existen propuestas de reflexión acerca de la lengua que se aprende y espacios para la re-
flexión intercultural, y se presentan diferentes propuestas para promover el desarrollo de
los siguientes ejes:

5 Guía para diseñar

Para realizar el diseño de secuencias didácticas enriquecidas con tic hay que tener en
cuenta varios aspectos: el enfoque metodológico, los objetivos del aprendizaje, el produc-
to final del proyecto y la selección de herramientas tic.
El enfoque metodológico
Antes de comenzar a diseñar una secuencia didáctica, también llamada unidad de tra-
bajo o proyecto, el docente deberá conocer los lineamientos de los diseños curriculares de
la jurisdicción donde trabaja y toda la normativa vigente relacionada con la enseñanza
de lenguas.
En la actualidad, el enfoque metodológico del aprendizaje por tareas es un enfoque
frecuentemente utilizado para la enseñanza del inglés. En este enfoque, los alumnos tran-
sitan una unidad de trabajo, resolviendo las diferentes tareas propuestas por el docente.
Estas tareas intermedias pueden ser comunicativas o de construcción y reflexión lingüís-
tica, y ayudan al alumno a desarrollar el conocimiento lingüístico necesario para resolver
la tarea planteada al final del proyecto.
Después de elegir el tema que se va a trabajar, de acuerdo con los diseños curriculares
de cada jurisdicción, el docente deberá determinar los objetivos del aprendizaje. Estos
deben ser claros, ya que serán los que determinen lo que los alumnos lograrán alcanzar.
Cabe mencionar que los objetivos se plantean para todos los ejes a desarrollar: com-
prensión y producción oral, lectura y escritura, reflexión sobre la lengua extranjera que
se aprende y reflexión intercultural. Los objetivos del aprendizaje guiarán el diseño de las
tareas del proyecto y de las herramientas de evaluación.
