ACTIVITY 1: My perfect family vacation
You are going to work in pairs. Write a story about your perfect family vacation.
1. Imagine you are having a vacation with your family. Answer the question below to
help you:
a. Where are you?
b. What’s the weather like?
c. Who are you with?
d. What’s your outfit? What´s the other person(s) outfit?
e. What your family and you want to do?
f. What they are doing? What do they need/like to do?
2. After you answer the questions, write your story and dialogues. Include a brief
description at the beginning of the dialogue (describe the place where you are and the
weather). Check the example:
I’m at the farm, the weather is sunny and I’m using my red shirt and black shorts. My mom is
wearing a white shirt and black skirt…

Imagine you made a trip last year to a famous city in a country and you want to recommend it to
your close friends which are planning to go to vacations. The activity is divided into two parts: the
written description and the oral presentation (ppt).
Written Description
1. “My experience in the city” Using past simple, describe your experiences in the city. Describe
activities or things you did and the places you visited and think in your friend´s expectations.
Use at least 12 different verbs in past simple in affirmative or negative forms (include the
verb was/were twice each one). Check the Units 10 and 11 in your books to review the
information. Number of words= 50-70, divided into 1 or 2 paragraphs.
2. “Eating habits and costumes in the country” Write about the eating habits and costumes in
general of the people in the country you visited; think about what your friends could like more.
Write affirmative and negative sentences (in present or present continuous), use the vocabulary
of Unit 12. Include quantifiers: some, any, a lot of, much many (once each). Describe the
weather (what was the weather like?) and the clothes you recommend wearing in the
country. Number of words= 50-70, divided into 1 or 2 paragraphs.
3. “Recommendations” Write your recommendation using can/ can’t (two sentences each),
mention the most important places to visit in the city and how you might feel when you visit the
places, support your ideas. Use 4 adjectives (check the vocabulary of units 7- 12). Number of
words= 40-50, divided into 1 or 2 paragraphs.
4. Read and complete the chart below with the previous information and highlight the grammar
aspects according to the checklist.
