TEST OF ENGLISH COMMUNICATION SKILLS EXAMEN DE

COMPETENCIAS COMUNICATIVAS EN INGLÉS

El examen TECS, evalúa el nivel de proficiencia del idioma Inglés de sus tomadores en un tiempo oportuno a través de
un completo banco de ítems, basados en temas de actualidad, usados por las personas en contextos comunicativos
reales. Estos temas tienen relación con la realidad cultural presente como música, deportes, redes sociales, noticias
del mundo, tecnología entre otros temas de interés general por medio de los cuales se evalúa la comunicación real
entre los individuos en la vida diaria.

El examen TECS es reconocido por importantes asociaciones como la Asociación internacional de Exámenes de
idiomas (International Language Testing Association) ILTA y la Asociación Nacional de Exámenes para la Educación
Superior (National College Testing Association) NCTA.

¿Qué evalúa?
PRODUCCION VERBAL
El rango de preguntas se presenta desde muy básicas de nivel
A1, donde los candidatos puedan entender y expresar
oraciones simples relacionadas con su realidad más cercana, a
preguntas más complejas donde la interpretación y opiniones
es necesaria para expresar de manera más completa su visión
de temas culturales en general.

ESCUCHA BASADA EN CONTEXTOS
La sección del TECS que evalúa habilidad de escucha
basada en contextos, toma en cuenta la habilidad que tiene
la persona para comprender información hablada en Inglés
por medio de muestras reales del idioma tomadas de
noticias de televisión, programas de radio, discursos de
personajes conocidos.

INTERPRETACION DE TEXTOS
El examen TECS evalúa la habilidad de comprensión
comunicativa al usar diferentes indicadores que
pueden determinar el grado en el que la persona es
capaz de procesar un texto escrito. Esta sección
incluye preguntas de interpretación iconográfica de
símbolos que pueden derivar en el seguimiento de una
instrucción o informarse acerca de un evento. Ademas

USO DEL IDIOMA (ESTRUCTURA)
Estos ítems tienen relación con tareas simples que permiten
valorar la capacidad de un control limitado de algunas
estructuras y modelos de oraciones de un repertorio
aprendido, aumentando su complejidad para evaluar la
manera en que el tomador del examen se comunica con una
precisión razonable en contextos familiares demostrando un
buen control de la estructura demostrando consistencia

Certificado
Al finalizar la evaluación de las cuatro competencias, se entrega un certificado donde se muestra el desempeño en cada una. Igualmente
muestra el percentil donde se encuentra la persona según el total de la prueba.
El certificado presenta la foto de la persona que lo tomo, igualmente la identificación del centro donde se realizo la prueba y un código de
prevención de fraude para que terceros confirmen la validez del certificado.

Este puntaje luego interpreta en términos del Marco Común Europeo de Referencia para los Idiomas (CEFR), por sus siglas en Inglés y se
describe el nivel del estudiante.

Los siguientes son los niveles expuestos en el certificado Según el TECS Proficiency
Stage, el cual es una referencia propia de ILTO y su interpretación según el CEFR.

CONCLUSIONS

• The speaking section is made of a total of 30 questions.

• These questions asses the speaking interaction and speaking production
according to the CEFR - Common European Framework Languages.
• The speaking section may take 5 to 30 minutes according to the proficiency of the candidate.
• The proficiency level increases every 6 questions.
• Do not approve or correct the candidate's answer, simply click on percentage of proficiency according to the
rubrics.
• Do not provide any feedback to the candidate.
• Read the questions loud and clearly.
• Encourage the candidate to answer the questions as completely as possible.
• Repeat each question only once, if requested word it differently but keeping the sense of the
question.
