Glosario
● Eustachian tube: The Eustachian tube is an opening that connects the middle
ear with the nasal-sinus cavity.
● Outer ear: The outer ear is made up of cartilage and skin. There are three different
parts to the outer ear; the tragus, helix and the lobule.
● Tympanic membrane: The tympanic membrane is also called the eardrum. It
separates the outer ear from the middle ear
● Ear pain: Pain in the inner or outer part of the ear that may interfere with the ability
to hear
● Hearing loss: Deafness can be the result of damage to the inner ear or nerves
● Fistula: Abnormal opening or passage between two organs, or between an organ

● Otoscope: It is an instrument with a beam of light that helps to visualize and
examine the condition of the ear canal and eardrum.
