When using two sequential object
pronouns that begin with “l,” the first
one changes to “se.”

• Les lo/la/los/las > se lo/la/los/las
— Te lavas las manos antes de cocinar, ¿no?
— Sí, siempre me las lavo antes de cocinar porque es una práctica saludable.
You wash your hands before cooking, right?
Yes, I always wash them before cooking because it is a healthy practice.
— ¿Por qué me das este regalo?

you giving me this gift? I'm giving it to you because it's our wedding
anniversary and I love you very much.

husband at six every night.
