TEMA 1
COUNTABLE AND UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS
FASE 1 - PRECONCEPTOS
3.What can you see in the pictures? Write down the words and mark countable nouns with C, and the
uncountable ones with U.
incontables). Se utiliza generalmente en oraciones afirmativas.
Examples:
-There are a lot of cherries (hay muchas cerezas)
-How much soup do you want? A lot. (cuánta sopa quieres? Mucha).
MANY (muchos/as)
Se utiliza para expresar que hay un gran número de algo, por lo tanto, precede a nombres contables en plural.
Se utiliza en oraciones negativas e interrogativas, aunque se puede utilizar en oraciones afirmativas en un
lenguaje menos coloquial.
Examples:
- Do you have many hobbies? (Tienes muchas aficiones?).
- There aren´t many tomatoes (No quedan muchos tomates).
MUCH (mucho/a)
Se utiliza para expresar que hay una gran cantidad de algo, por lo tanto, precede a nombres incontables. Se
utiliza en oraciones negativas e interrogativas.
Examples:
-We haven´t got much time (no temenos mucho tiempo).
-Did you pay too much for this coat? (Pagasté mucho por este abrigo?).
5
Se utiliza en oraciones afirmativas para expresar una cantidad pequeña de algo, por lo tanto, precede a
nombres incontables. (A) little no precede a un nombre cuando ya sabemos a qué nos referimos.
Examples:
-He speak a little French (Él habla un poco de Frances).
-Do you want sugar? A little. (¿Quieres azucar? Un poco).
Se utiliza en oraciones afirmativas, para expresar algunos, algunas, unos cuantos. Por lo tanto, precede a los
nombres contables.
Examples:
-There are a few students in the classroom. (Hay unos pocos estudiantes en el salón).
-There are a few apples in the fridge. (Hay pocas manzanas en la nevera).
A/AN un una
En este caso estamos hablando de un artículo, y por tanto, de lo que únicamente puede ser un determinante, por
lo cual, no encontraremos a o an sustituyendo a un nombre. Ambos significan un, uno, una, decidiremos cuál
usar en función de la letra por la que empiece la siguiente palabra.
Examples:
There is a new student (Hay un nuevo estudiante).
She is eating an ice cream (Ella está comiendo un helado).
Usamos some y any siempre que el hablante no pueda especificar o no quiera especificar un número o una
cantidad exacta. Any se usa en oraciones interrogativas y negativas.
Examples:
-I have some Friends in London. (Tengo algunos amigos en Londres).
-Is there any milk at home? (Hay algo de leche en casa?).

SIMPLE PAST TENSE (Tiempo pasado simple)
FASE 1 – PRECONCEPTOS
1.Find the past tense forms of the verbs listed below in the puzzle and circle them.
2.Write the verbs in present, past tense, with the meaning.
READING COMPREHENSION
2. Identify the verbs in past tense in the previous reading, make a list and write them in present tense.

Arrive arrived
Call called
Wait waited
Study studied
Like liked
Marry married
Hate hated
Hay unos 200 verbos irregulares en inglés. Podemos dividir éstos en cuatro tipos:
1. Verbos que tienen la misma forma básica, pasado simple y participio pasado
2. Los verbos que tienen el mismo pasado simple y participio pasado
3. Verbos que tienen la misma forma base y participio pasado
4. Verbos que tienen una forma base, pasado simple y participio pasado diferente
