1. ADJECTIVES

STRATEGY:
La comparación de los adjetivos en la lengua
Comparing/Contrasting Adjectives in L1 materna y el idioma que se aprende facilita
(Spanish)) and L2 English. la comprensión y uso de los mismos.

Los adjetivos son palabras que modifican al nombre, el termino modifican se refiere a
que se refieren al nombre para calificarlo, cuantificarlo, describirlo. En Ingles como en
Español los adjetivos cumplen la misma función.

Examples:

Mr. Suarez is a polite professor.

The Faculty has an excellent reputation.
We provide high quality education.

Una diferencia importante entre los dos idiomas radica en que en ingles los adjetivos
no se modifican, es decir que no varían en genero o numero, es decir no se añade “s”
cuando se trata del plural y no recibe ninguna terminación especial para formar el
género masculino o femenino.

Mr. Suarez is a polite professor se refiere a una persona en

género masculino.
The Faculty has an excellent reputation  se refiere a una institución en
género femenino.

Roger and Eddy are intelligent boys. se refiere a dos sujetos en plural.
Otra diferencia se presenta cuando el adjetivo describe este va delante del nombre, lo
que es diferente en español.

Examples:

12
The White House is in Washington White house / no house white.

We provide high quality education. high quality education/ no education high quality
