La formación de un óvulo o un
espermatozoide con un cromosoma X
adicional. Por tanto, al juntarse con el gameto
del sexo opuesto en la fecundación, se
obtendrá un embrión con la trisomía XXY,
genotipo más frecuente del síndrome de
Klinefelter.
Origen o causas
● Copia adicional del cromosoma X en cada
célula (XXY); causa más frecuente.

● Cromosoma X adicional en algunas de las

células (síndrome de Klinefelter mosaico),
presenta menos síntomas.
Caracteristicas
del cromosoma
 Fenotipo
● Desarrollo anormal del cuerpo: piernas largas, tronco corto, hombros
estrechos...
● Poco vello facial, axilar y púbico.
● Musculatura poco desarrollada y tendencia al sobrepeso.
● Ginecomastia: ligero desarrollo de los pechos.
● Testículos pequeños.
● Otras alteraciones del aparato reproductor: micropene, criptorquidia,
ausencia bilateral de los conductos deferentes...
● Esterilidad por azoospermia absoluta y libido disminuida
