Abstract
Pasteurella haemolytica is a bacterium that affects animals, especially cattle and
sheep. It is one of the most common causes of pneumonia in these animals, a disease that can
be fatal if not properly treated. It can also cause other infections, such as abscesses,
septicemia, arthritis and mastitis. Pasteurella haemolytica is a major health and economic
problem for livestock producers. The objective of this report is to describe the
microbiological analysis of Pausterella hemolitica, a bacteria of importance in veterinary
medicine and zootechnics. Different stages were carried out in the process, including sample
collection, isolation, Gram staining, culture on blood agar and MacConkey agar, biochemical
tests (TSI, SIM, CITRATE and UREA), and an antibiogram. The results of these tests will
provide relevant information for the diagnosis and treatment of infections caused by
Pasteurella haemolytica in animals.
