HE Has A new tablet.
SHE Has A purple backpack.

Describing my possessions

It’s time we learn another way to describe possession where we focus on the
owner of the object. This is called the “possessive ‘s”
We use it to talk about possessions or family and relationships.
• That is Fabio’s ball.
• This is Silvia’s cellphone.
• Marisol is Elena’s sister.
These are real life example of the possessive “’s”
It shows that the Brand
belongs to “Hershey’s”

Some rules:
• We use ‘s with singular nouns.
o The dog’s bed is in the kitchen.
• With singular nouns that end in -s or people’s names that end in -s, we add
‘s.
o Where is Douglas’s tablet?
• When we talk about objects that belong to two or more people, we use ‘s
after the last person.
o This is Jorge and Carla’s ball.

• With plural nouns ending in -s we ONLY add “ ‘ “

o They boys’ bag are here.
