2. APORTE DE LA ASIGNATURA A LA CARRERA

2.1. Justificación

La asignatura de inglés tiene como objetivo el desarrollo y la práctica a nivel profesional

de las cuatro destrezas lingüísticas del idioma inglés y una eficiente comprensión y mane-
jo de sus estructuras y de un amplio rango de vocabulario, así como también el desarrollo
de destrezas de análisis y síntesis tanto de manera escrita como oral.
Como parte de la formación profesional de un estudiante universitario permite darle he-
rramientas de comunicación y medios de aprendizaje que le sirve para estar a la par del
mundo globalizado actual en su aspecto laboral.
Al ser una materia complementaria al currículo de todas las carreras, esta contribuye a
que el estudiante pueda alcanzar una destreza comunicativa útil para desempeñarse en
un medio laboral de habla inglesa y de ser capaz de comprender, aprender y comunicar
información relacionada a su área de conocimiento.

2.2. Problema(s) a resolver

Los estudiantes de la Universidad Técnica Luis Vargas Torres como requisito de titulación
deben lograr un nivel de inglés B2 con el fin de cumplir con los estándares que indica el
CES para quienes culminen la formación de grado. Así también, este certificado o nivel de
suficiencia es requisito para iniciar estudios de cuarto nivel en cualquier institución educa-
tiva del país.

2.3. Objeto de estudio

Esta asignatura estudia el idioma inglés a través de la práctica de las destrezas lingüísti-
cas de este idioma, implementando un proceso de aprendizaje que observa sus compo-
nentes fonológicos, morfológicos, sintácticos, semánticos y pragmáticos, y estableciendo
una relación entre el contenido impartido y la realidad cultural actual del mundo. Esta tiene
la finalidad de mejorar las destrezas lingüísticas del estudiante para que este pueda in-
crementar su nivel de inglés acordé al Marco Común Europeo de Referencia para las len-
guas.

La principal metodología usada es el enfoque comunicativo del idioma en donde se mejo-

ran las destrezas lingüísticas así cómo se aprende contenido e información relevante a
nivel social y cultural a una escala mundial. Así también, se aplica la metodología CLIL en
donde se imparten contenidos de otras áreas del conocimiento y de una manera comuni-
cativa a través de una lengua extranjera con el fin de ampliar el marco de conocimientos
de un estudiante en otros campos científicos.

2.4. Objetivo general

Incrementar el nivel de comprensión del idioma inglés y mejorar las destrezas comunicati-
vas del estudiante a través de la aplicación de un enfoque comunicativo del aprendizaje
de este idioma y en correlación tanto a la realidad multicultural actual del mundo, así co-
mo con respecto al perfil de salida de este centro de estudios con el fin de obtener un NI-
VEL DE SUFICIENCIA B2 de acuerdo al Marco Común Europeo de Referencia (MCER)
