Good morning classmates, we are from buñol, spain and we are going to talk about our tradition "la tomatina".

(Buenos días compañeros de clase, somos de Buñol, españa y vamos a hablar de nuestra tradición "la
tomatina".)

EL ORIGEN

La tomatina, was born in 1944 at the time of the Buñol festivities in August, when a group of young people
started a fight with participants of the town festival and ended up throwing tomatoes at each other. Over the
years this has become a tradition.
Today, la tomatina is the biggest battle of tomatoes in the world. During this celebration, the participants throw
tomatoes at each other with the sole purpose of having fun.
(La tomatina, Nació en 1944 en época de las fiestas de Buñol en agosto, cuando un grupo de jóvenes
comenzó un pleito con participantes de la fiesta del pueblo y terminaron arrojándose tomates. Con los años se
hizo tradición.
Actualmente la tomatina es la mayor batalla de tomates del mundo. Durante esta celebración los
participantes se tiran tomates con la única finalidad de divertirse.)

Ropa típica
La ropa típica que vas a llevar. (Describa la ropa)

You can wear any type of clothing, such as old sports clothes or, preferably, old, comfortable clothes, as they

Se puede usar cualquier tipo de ropa, de preferencia ropa cómoda y vieja, ya que se va a manchar con
tomates. Nosotros vamos a ir con ropa deportiva cómoda.
 Comida típica
 La comida típica que vas a comer. Al menos 3 platos (explicar cada plato)

In the celebration We are going to eat 3 typical dishes

“Rice with vegetables” cannot be missing in this traditional festival. It is typical the rice with bledas, chard,
known as the fasting rice is prepared with legumes and vegetables.

“The Mojete” is the most consumed dish during the tomatina. This traditional recipe is composed of crushed
tomato, onion black pudding, sausages, olive oil, almond flour, water and salt.

Another must is the well-known "Olla podrida" (rotten pot), a traditional dish that despite its name is an
exquisite dish. This dish contains vegetables, pork, potatoes, liver, sausages, bacon, black pudding, paprika
and garlic.
EN ESPAÑOL
*Los arroces con verduras no pueden faltar en esta tradicional fiesta. Es típico el arroz con bledas, acelgas,
conocido como el arroz de ayuno se prepara con legumbres y vegetales.

*el Mojete es el plato que más se consume durante la tomatina. Esta tradicional receta está compuesta por tomate
triturado, morcillas de cebolla, longanizas, aceite de oliva, harina de almortas, agua y sal.

*Otro imprescindible es la conocida Olla podrida Un plato tradicional que pese al nombre que recibe es un plato
exquisito. Este plato contiene verduras, cerdo, patatas, hígado, longanizas, tocino, morcillas, pimentón y ajos.

-vamos a participar en las actividades del “palo jabón”, como también participaremos de la ya conocida “la
batalla” en donde vamos a tirarnos muchos tomates
(el palo jabón es una actividad que consiste en un palo enjabonado que tiene un jamón en la cima, el cual se
debe alcanzar para que comience “la tomatina”)
-Vamos a comer platos típicos como el arroz con verduras, la olla podrida o el mojete.
-Y vamos a pasarla muy bien
