Instructions: Write the meaning of the following list of words in
English and Spanish. This task will be consulted throughout the course.

1.- Methodology - Metodología: A systemof methods used in a

particular area of study or activity. Conjunto de métodos que se siguen
en una investigación científica, un estudio u una exposición doctrinal.

2.- Method - Método: A particular formof procedure for

acomplishing or approaching something, especially a systematic or
established one. Procedimiento que se sigue para conseguir algo. Modo
ordenado y sistemático de procederpara llegar a un resultado o fin
determinado.

3.- Approach - Enfoque: A way of dealing with something. A way of

looking or teaching and learning. It gives rise to methods, the way of
teaching which use classroom activities or techniques to help learners
learn. Manera específica de ver las cosas o las ideas, y en consecuencia
también de tratar los problemas relativos a ellos.

4.- Technique - Técnica: A way of carrying out a particular task,

especially the execution or performance of an artistic work or a
scientific procedure. Conjunto de procedimientos, reglas, normas,
acciones y protocolos que tiene como objetivo obtener un resultado
determinado y efectivo.

5.- Eclectic - Ecléctico: Methods, beliefs, ideas, etc. That are eclectic
combine whatever seems the best or most useful things from many
differents areas or systems, rather than following asingle system.
Adjetivo que describe una cosa o persona que mezcla una variedad de
ideas o posturas sin definir.

6.- Linguistic - Lingüística: Relating to language or linguistics,

connected with language or the study of language. Disciplina científica
que investiga el origen, la evolución y la estructura del lenguaje.

7.- Cognitive - Cognitivo: Of, relating to, being, or involving

conscious intellectual activity, (such as thinking, reasoning or
remembering). Del conocimiento u relacionado con el, aquello que
pertenece o está relacionado al conocimiento.

8.- Inductive - Inductivo: Using a particular set of facts or ideas to
form a general peincple. Uusar un conjunto particular de hechos o
ideas para formar un principio general.

9.- Deductive - Deductivo: Reaching an answer or a decision by

thinkng carefully about the known facts. Procede de la deducción, o
relacionada con esta forma de razonamiento, llegar a una conclusión al
pensar cuidadosamente sobre los datos conocidos.

10.- Holistic - Holístico: Is an adjective that describes things related

to the idea that the whole is more that the sum of its part. Dealing with
or treating the whole of something or someone and not just a part.
Adejtivo que describe las ideas relacionadas de que el todo es más que
la suma de sus partes, tratar con el todo de algo o alguien y no sólo una
parte.

11.- Axiomatic - Axiomático: Self-evident or unquestionable

obviously true and therefore not needed to be proved. Algo
incuestionable, evidente, idiscutible, innegable, irrefutable, seguro,
probado, claro, algo relativo a los axiomas que no es falso ni dudoso.

12.- Correlative assumptions – Suposiciones correlativas:

Measures the lineal association between two variables. Suposiciones
correlativas, se sospecha razonable, se insiste “debe de ser acreditable,
empíricamente en virtud de que se justifique aquella presunción.

13.- Conductual - Conductual: Refers to behavional conducts.

Perteneciente o relativo a la conducta.

14.- Constructivist - Constructivista: Movement associated

mechanically with objects that are combined into abstract mobile
structures. Corriente pedagógica basada en la teoría del conocimiento
constructivista que se postula la necesidad de entregar herramientas
necesarias que permitan resolver una probabilidad.

15.- Premise - Premisa: A previous statement or preposition from

which another is informal or follows a conclusion. Afirmación o idea
que se da como cierta y que sirve de base a un razonamiento o una
discusión.

16.- Paradigm - Paradigma: A set of linguistics items that term
mutually exclusive choice in a particular syntective roles. Conjunto de
unidades que pueden sustituirse otra en un mismo contexto por qué
cumplen la misma función.
