Foods around Colombia


Work with a partner,
Part 1 : (small poster)
Your task:  Choose one of the regions provided.
 Part 2: Read about the regions of Colombia to gather information on these topics, to create an
informative presentation. Try to find information.
Part 3: Presentation of this information  should be in the form of a small poster, so you can use it for
notes for your presentation, and to present your food

GET INFORMATION ON:

1.    Agriculture and /or  fishing / other  food industries


2.      Common crops and animals for food; staple foods
3. this region?  Why? How is it being addressed?)
4. Common dishes; foods eaten; cooking techniques and cooking equipment
5. Food customs or traditions; manners; or anything else interesting
 
Part 2 – Computer research and visual presentation
In your device, work with your partner to find out any other interesting facts about your region and its
food ways that you did not find in the text. Divide up the work evenly.
Collect pictures to form a slide show for the information you have collected in  your research.  Keep
track of the sources of information and each picture you use for your reference list for this project.
(You can only use pictures that you give credit to.)
You should have 6-10 slides to create a short slide presentation.  Have headings or statements for each
slide. (Don’t forget  references/sources)  Be sure to have a title slide with your names, class and date
on it.
 
Part 3 – a. Presentation to class (a. Slide show and b.food display/sample)

b. Presentation of a food or dish that represents your region: (This will be done at the end of the class
with the other presenters)
– Explanation of the food chosen (written) or  provide  a recipe with reason why you  chose it and
where you obtained    the recipe

Note:  Prepare a sample of : food/sampler tray/dish/dessert/ appetizer  that represents your region


and serve/show  it to the class at the end of your presentation.  Evaluation will include presentation
(plating) of the food as well as sanitation and service of the food to your classmates.   You are not
making this in class for the class; you are doing this at home or prior to the class so it will be ready at
7:00 a.m. on presentation day.
