COMPETENCIAS Y APRENDIZAJES ESPERADOS: Las competencias esperadas son la

Lingüística, Sociolingüística y Pragmática, con ellas se busca que el estudiante utilice de
manera práctica los componentes lingüísticos de la lengua, como son la pronunciación, la
gramática y el léxico haciendo correcto uso de ellos en los diferentes contextos culturales
y situaciones, que hacen parte de una comunicación efectiva.
METODOLOGIA: Teniendo en cuenta nuestro enfoque Critico Social, en el que el

estudiante debe reflexionar de manera crítica sobre su realidad y por ende sobre sus
procesos educativos, propiciando en ellos una actuación protagónica en el aprendizaje y
en la solución de problemas sociales, hemos adoptado una metodología en la cual ellos
tengan la oportunidad de realizar diferentes tipos de actividades, tales como ejercicios de
Reading comprehension, writing (dependiendo del grado), ejercicios gramaticales
(complete, match, lectura de imágenes, puzles, preguntas problematizadoras, entre otras,
además de tener en cuenta sus propios ritmos de aprendizaje y la implicación en su
propia formación a partir de sus valoraciones críticas que los conllevarán a una
apropiación del conocimiento en una segunda lengua de una manera efectiva,
provocando el acto comunicativo que se espera.

En la anterior guía tuvimos la oportunidad de hacer un abrebocas de la

temática de los comparativos y superlativos. En esta guía conocerás más a
fondo en que consiste esta importante temática del idioma inglés.
¿CÓMO FORMAR COMPARATIVOS Y SUPERLATIVOS EN INGLÉS?
Un elemento básico en el aprendizaje de cualquier idioma es saber cómo

comparar cosas. Los comparativos y los superlativos pueden parecer un poco
más complicados en inglés que en español, pero no obstante siguen unas reglas
claras que no son difíciles de dominar. Veamos algunos ejemplos:
a. Mexico City is bigger than London. (Ciudad de México es más grande

que Londres, comparativo)
b. London is more expensive than Mexico City. (Londres es más caro

que Ciudad de México, comparativo)
c. Madrid is the biggest city in Spain. (Madrid es la ciudad más grande de

España, superlativo)
d. Paris is the most beautiful city in the world. (París es la ciudad más bella del

mundo, superlativo)
¿Cuándo se usan el comparativo y el superlativo?
Los comparativos y los superlativos son grados del adjetivo. Como quizá leíste en
la aproximación a la gramática inglesa que te ofrecimos hace poco, un adjetivo
es una palabra que indica una característica de un sustantivo, como “a tall
building” (un edificio alto). Cuando queremos comparar este sustantivo con otros
sustantivos, necesitamos usar comparativos y superlativos.
Para utilizar un comparativo tenemos que estar hablando de dos o más

sustantivos y compararlos entre sí con objeto de decidir cuál de ellos es mejor
(better), más alto (taller), más interesante (more interesting), etc. (mira las frases a
y b más arriba). A la inversa, utilizamos el superlativo para seleccionar solo un

sustantivo dentro de un grupo porque es el mejor (the best), el más alto (the
tallest), el más interesante (the most interesting), etc. (mira las frases c y d).

Los adjetivos superlativos se puede decir que es el grado mayor de los adjetivos que
tienen como finalidad exagerar las bondades o cualidades de una persona, objeto u
ambiente, también se usan para comprar en su forma de adjetivo comparativo.
