Introducción
El idioma inglés es considerado un idioma universal, por lo cual la gran mayoría de los huéspedes
extranjeros tratarán de comunicarse en ese idioma. Por tal motivo es importante que se obtengan los
conocimientos básicos en ese idioma para permitir a los colaboradores contar con una ventaja competitiva
importante logrando que el huesped se sienta bien atendido en todo momento.

Objetivo
Proporcionar al colaborador la estructura del idioma inglés que le permita participar en conversaciones
sencillas con buen ritmo y pronunciación, proporcionándole el vocabulario necesario para poder formular su
discurso, plantear y contestar preguntas sencillas dentro de la categoría básica del Marco Común Europeo.

Importante
 Cuando te encuentres a un huésped de frente: Al encontrarse frente al huésped deberá mantener
siempre un contacto visual adecuado utilizando la regla de 10 y 5. Si lo observa a 10 pasos
aproximadamente, sólo dirigirle una sonrisa, si lo encuentra a 5 pasos deberá dirigirle un saludo
(buenos días, tardes o noches; cuando haya pocos huéspedes y sea factible saludar al huésped). Si
está sentado y el huésped se dirige a su escritorio a los 5 pasos deberá levantarse.
 Actitud y trato: Estando en su lugar o en áreas, todo colaborador deberá ser siempre amable y
sonriente con huéspedes y colaboradores en todo momento. Cuando ya conozca el apellido del
huésped deberá llamarlo por su apellido por lo menos 2 veces, dependiendo la duración de la
conversación; si no conoce al huésped siempre deberá tratarlo por SEÑOR y MADAME. No se deberá
saludar de mano a reserva que sea el huésped quien lo ofrece.
 Uso de vocabulario cortés: Siempre usará un vocabulario cortés al dirigirse al huésped, utilizando
frases como: por favor, gracias a usted y evitar en todo momento utilizar modismos como amigo, my
friend, guys, solo se permite que el personal de animación se refiera así a los huéspedes cuando
están dirigiendo una actividad.
