esperamos tu respuesta positiva.
Respuesta en ingles:
Dear,
We are proud to introduce you our new and innovative spectroscope, it has many advantages
such as:
● Our spectroscope features wavelength selection via a monochromator that offers
greater accuracy, resolution and flexibility in selecting the appropriate wavelength for
a given application.
● It features a xenon flash lamp that offers higher light intensity, a wide wavelength
range, reduced background noise, lower warm-up and longer lifetime compared to
other types of lamps; they also have a wavelength range of 200-1000 nm with 1 nm
steps that offers high spectral resolution and higher accuracy.
● In addition to this, our spectroscope has a reading range up to 4 absorbance units,
which means that it can measure the amount of light absorbed by a sample at a
specific wavelength, generating greater sensitivity, accuracy and speed of
measurement. It is useful for measuring samples with relatively low concentrations,
as it can detect changes in absorbance on a small scale.
● Our spectroscope comes with a wide band of 2.5 nm which allows us a greater
analysis capability, it is a relatively narrow band, which means that this equipment is
able to provide accurate measurements in a narrow range of wavelengths.
● Finally, our spectroscopes have a spectral scanning speed of 10 seconds in the
200-1000 nm range with 1 nm steps, this range covers the visible spectrum region
and includes a part of the ultraviolet and near infrared spectrum and offers a high
measurement speed.
We are sure you will be satisfied with the quality and range of our spectroscope, we look
forward to your positive feedback.
Answers:
a). The statement "Inorganic substances cannot be analyzed using FTIR" is false. Inorganic
compounds do produce FTIR spectra, although their spectroscopy may be more limited than
that of organic compounds due to the nature of their chemical bonds.
However, as mentioned in the text provided, some simple inorganic compounds, such as
NaCl, do not produce bands in the mid-infrared region, but can still be used as infrared
windows due to their transparency in that region. On the other hand, more complex inorganic
compounds, such as CaCO3, do produce characteristic infrared bands. Table 5.1 mentioned
in the text provides a list of the most common inorganic ions and their characteristic infrared
bands.
b). The statement is false. Heavier cations have an opposite effect: they cause the infrared
bands to shift to a lower wavenumber. This effect is most obvious for bending vibrations
observed at lower wavenumbers. This is because heavier ions have a higher gravitational
force than lighter ions, resulting in higher polarizability and weaker bond strength in the
molecule. Therefore, heavier ions can deform the molecular structure more, which reduces
the energy required for vibration and decreases the number of waves.
