PASOS PARA ESCRIBIR UN ENSAYO

complejas.

EJEMPLO

• El tema es: SHOULD SMOKING BE PROHIBITED IN PUBLIC

PLACES?
• Tal y como vimos en los pasos, lo que haremos es generar ideas.
Necesitamos una frase general sobre el tema, ideas a favor y en
contra, y una conclusion.
ESTRUCTURA

• La estructura debería ser algo así:

• 1. Frase general sin nuestra opinión. Normalmente con una pregunta
que acabará respondiéndose en la conclusión.
• 2. On the one hand, + idea 1. Desarrollo de la idea 1.
• 3. On the other hand, + idea 2. Desarrollo de la idea 2.
• 4. In conclusion, + resumen general + opinión
IDEAS

• SHOULD SMOKING BE PROHIBITED IN PUBLIC PLACES?

• nowadays more and more people think smokers are disrespectful to
non-smokers
• Idea 1. people who smoke think they have the right to smoke
outdoors.
• Idea 2. non-smokers have their rights, too.
• non-smokers right to enjoy a meal or a walk without smelling or
breathing a cigarette smoke should be more important.
WRITING

• SHOULD SMOKING BE PROHIBITED IN PUBLIC PLACES?

• 1. Smoking is a very extended habit in our society. However, nowadays more and more people
think smokers are disrespectful to non-smokers. Should they stop smoking in public places?
• 2. On the one hand, people who smoke think they have the right to smoke outdoors. For
them, it is a pleasure to smoke a cigarette while they are having a coffee or after having
lunch. For others, it is even a necessity and they will get nervous if they don’t smoke. Also,
they will consider they are outdoors and won’t disturb others.
• 3. On the other hand, non-smokers have their rights, too. Many of them think they should be
able to have lunch without smelling the smoke of others. Not only because it is not pleasant,
but also because it is not thoughtful. The same happens near hospitals, schools or offices.
• 4. In conclusion, while I think smokers should have the right to smoke if it is their decision to
enjoy an unhealthy habit, non-smokers’ right to enjoy a meal or a walk without smelling or
breathing a cigarette smoke should be more important.
