ABSTRACT:
In this laboratory, the importance of micrometry was made known, because thanks to its function
one has an idea and a broader conclusion of the cell, it is in charge of finding out the approximate
size of an object. With the microscope it is also possible to increase the image of an object, make
measurements, estimate the size of a cell or a population of microorganisms. When we look at
microscopic objects or cells, we have a clear image of them, but it is not the actual image of their
size. This is because it is increased depending on the eyepiece and objective used. In some fields of
biology it is essential to know the number of cells per optical field, the size of each one of them,
the approximate size of a certain microorganism, etc. Data allows you to deduce values of great
importance for a certain investigation. The part of microscopy that is responsible for finding out
the approximate size of an object is called micrometry.
