La neurona es la célula principal del

Los axones

• Las dendritas tienden adelgazarse conforme se

bultos llamados espinas. En contraste, el axón
suele conservar el mismo diámetro en la mayor
parte de su longitud y no tiene espinas.

• Por último, muchos axones están cubiertos con

una sustancia aislante especial llamada mielina,
que les ayuda a transmitir rápidamente los
impulsos nerviosos. La mielina nunca se
encuentra en dendritas

NEURONAS
 En función de la morfología o polaridad
• Unipolar: Aquellas que solo tienen un axón o dendritas.
• Pseudounipolar: Puede confundirse con la anterior porque tanto el axón como las dendritas
emergen de la misma zona del soma neuronal.
• Bipolar: El axón sale del soma por un lado y las dendritas del contrario.
• Multipolar: Posee muchas dendritas y un axón en el lado opuesto del soma.

• Sensorial: Transmite la
información desde los órganos
hacia el SNC. Son las llamadas
neuronas aferentes.
• Motora: Conduce el impulso
desde el SNC a los órganos y
tejidos ejecutores.

motoras con neuronas
sensoriales.
