 About the Girl Guides Association of
Dominica!
Brief History About the Association
The Girl Guides Association of
Dominica, locally known as ‘ the GGAD’,
was founded in 1929 through the efforts
of Alice Honeychurch, and Annie
McIntyre. It became an associate
member of the World Association of Girl
Guides and Girl Scouts in 1987 and in
2008, the association gained full
membership in WAGGGS. Currently, the
association has an estimated
membership total of 800 girls.
Breve Historia de la Asociación
La Girl Guides Association of Dominica,
localmente conocida como ‘la GGAD’,
fue fundada en 1929 por los esfuerzos
de Alice Honeychurch y Annie McIntyre.
Se convirtió en asociación miembro de la
Asociación Mundial de Guías Scouts en
el 1987, y en el 2008, la asociación
obtuvo su membrecía completa por la
AMGS. En la actualidad la asociación
tiene un estimado total de 800niñas.

Fun Facts About Dominica
Dominica is often confused with
the Spanish island, Dominican
Republic. However, Dominica is
actually an English and French
Creole speaking small island
located between Guadeloupe and
Martinique in the Lesser Antilles
of the Caribbean with a
population of approximately
60,000 people.
Hechos divertidos sobre Dominica
Dominica muchas veces es confundida
con la isla española, la Republica
Dominicana. Sin embargo, Dominica es
una pequeña isla localizada entre
Guadalupe y Martinica en las Antillas
Menores del Caribe. Cuenta con una
población de 60, 000 personas quienes
en realidad hablan inglés y un francés
criollo.
