TECHWOMEN MENTORSHIP WILL HELP ME TO ACHIEVE MY PROFESSIONAL
GOALS.

Introduction
Professional goals are concrete objectives that someone want to achieve in career.
Creating clear goals prompts me to think about what I want, so that I can pursue a position
or career that truly satisfies me. In that way, professional goals give me work direction and
purpose because when I set them, I know I have an action plan and am working towards
something I actually want to achieve. Professional goals are anything someone hope to
achieve during career, including skills, milestones, career changes or salaries. They also
can be goals i wish to accomplish personally or to help your company and/or industry
achieve. They are typically a combination of short-term goals and long-term goals. Long-
term career goals provide a north star to work towards, while short-term goals break up the
work into more immediate and actionable steps. In addition to giving work a direction and
purpose, setting goals helps in deciding where someone to go and the steps needed to get
there. In this essay, I describe my professional goals and how TechWoman mentorship will
help me to achieve it.

List of my Professional Goals

i. Obtain a leadership position

Obtaining a leadership position can help me enhance my teamwork, leadership skills
and establish my credibility in the industry. Consider what type of leadership position
I want and how to reach that position. It's important to determine whether the
company I work with offers such opportunities or if I might need to pursue a career
change.

ii. Attend a Workshop

Attending a workshop with a large company in my industry can be a great
opportunity. With a workshop, I can learn industry skills, practices and methods and
increase my professional network. I can also gain valuable experience to add to my
resume, which can make me a more appealing candidate when I want to search for
a better job. I can achieve this by looking for workshops through laborer's unions, job
programs or universities.
iii. Increase my core skills
I will consider the core skills are in my job, as well as the soft and hard skills that I
can't perform my job without. I will increase and enhance those skills through
classes, mentors, workshops and/or internships. I can also use personal time to
pursue new core skills to increase my employability by reading books on engineering
to increase my understanding of why certain things are in place and how they work.

iv. Grow my professional network

Growing my professional network will help me form key connections in my industry. I
will consider focusing on attending industry and/or work-related events such as
seminars, training sessions and casual gatherings. I will try to make connections
online via professional networking sites or email lists.

v. Advance in my company
Advancing in my company can mean moving to a position I feel better suits my skills,
but it's not necessarily a leadership position. I might want to move to a parallel
position within the company in a different department or to a position that allows
more creative freedom. I can think about when and why I want to advance and what
skills or steps I need to reach that goal.

vi. Obtain Higher Credentials.

Obtaining higher credentials in my industry, which can create new employment and
salary opportunities. Higher credentials also can help establish industry credibility.

vii. Earn a Higher Salary

Many professionals work toward obtaining a higher salary. Earning more money can
help me become more financially secure and confident in my position. I will consider
what my ideal salary is, what my current salary is and how I can work toward
achieving my ideal salary—whether at my current job or in a new position.

viii. Become an expert in my field

Becoming an expert in my field can provide various opportunities for employment
and additional opportunities as a consultant or a freelancer. I will consider what
credentials or experience current industry experts hold and how I can obtain those
 credentials. I can also consider mentorship from industry professionals to learn more
about what they do daily.

ix. Win an Award in my Industry

Winning an industry award can bring me notoriety with industry experts, increase my
employability and establish my credentials as an industry expert. Awards differ by
industry, but obtaining an award can require patience and skill as well as innovation.

x. Improve my Collaboration Skills.

Many jobs depend on the collaboration of employees to create innovative products
and services for the company. Collaboration skills will help me learn to work better in
a team setting and learn to communicate with team members to complete projects,
reach deadlines and create new products or services. Consider any learning
opportunities (e.g., seminars) that might increase my collaboration skills.

xi. Become a Mentor

Some professionals use their skills and experience to become mentors and help
coach the next generation of industry experts. Becoming a mentor will allow me to
work closely with a novice in the industry and help them excel in their position. Doing
this also can increase my personal satisfaction with my career and broaden my
professional network.

xii. Learn a New Industry Tool

Advancing technology often provides new and innovative tools for industries.
Learning one of these new tools will give me a competitive advantage over other job
candidates and may allow me to earn a higher salary. By considering the latest
industry technology and pursue opportunities to learn more about it or how to use
these tools.

HOW TECHWOMAN MENTORSHIP WILL HELP ME ACHIEVE MY GOALS.

There are a lot of benefits in participating in the mentorship programme but here are some
main pros:
a. Networking Opportunities: Building new relationships and meeting new contacts is
important to personal and business growth. Relationships with clients, speakers and
vendors can help me gain knowledge from having meaningful conversations with
them.
b. Learning Something New: Learning about new and more effective ways to
accomplish things and gaining more knowledge about business subjects and
concepts are all benefits of attending the programme.

c. Becoming an Expert: the workshop will enables me to gain more expertise in my field
and develop new ideas on ways to improve in my job.

d. Gaining Inspiration: Meeting new people and learning new things often leads to
great feelings of inspiration. I will want to share this new enthusiasm with my staff
and peers.

e. Having fun: Attending workshops and seminars are usually very fun. It’s a day away
from the office to improve me and most people love connecting with others who
share their interests and passions.

f. Feel motivated and empowered: Aside from all these career and financial benefits,
completing a course will gives me sense of self-fulfillment and accomplishment. It will
also give me an advantage in many aspects of my life.

g. Improves my career progression: Completing further studies shows current

employers what I am capable of. It will helps to demonstrate to them am keen for
career progression, this then portrays me as someone who is persistent and willing
to learn. This will encourage my employer to invest more time into my career and
give me the opportunity to take on more responsibilities, leading to promotions and
higher salaries.
h. Show commitment: The workshop will provides me with much better chances of
getting a specific job. Commitment matters, and getting a professional qualification in
an area of work am interested in will show my dedication in that area.

i. Better promotion prospects

The more I equip myself with the key skills my company requires, the more I become
a necessary component of company success. The course will continually improve my
promotion prospects, and show employers my dedication to personal improvement.
j. The latest and greatest skills: Never be fooled again by the latest updates in
technology, business practices, international policy or law, or any significant change
in the infrastructure of how international business is conducted thereby be
professionally competitive.

k. Get Practical Skills: Given their compact structure, the mentorship programme is
going to boost my practical professional abilities in a short space of time.

CONCLUSION
In conclusion, professional goals are objectives that help in advancing career. Professional
development goals are one of the best ways to build the career you want. Setting goals
helps you actively decide what to pursue and how you’ll get there, so each day you know
you’re progressing towards something that matters. And while change can feel daunting,
professional goals give peace of mind, knowing that somone have a clear purpose and path
to achieve your career aspirations.

Attending the Tech woman workshop is an attempt of new things which will helps me grow,
builds resilience, character, and the energy needed to propel me forward in my careers. It will
give me the ability to build or gain new skills that can boost my overall performance without
a long-term commitment. It will also teaches new advancements or trends within my
industries, thus, the newfound knowledge will then put me at a particular advantage at my
job. The programme will offer more condensed form of learning that is more accessible to
people who also maintain full-time jobs. Due to their short timeline, it is also a lot more
flexible for students to add to their schedules and dedicate the time towards studying.
