TEACHER’S AND STUDENT’S INSTRUCTIONS:

Project-based learning is defined by the subdirección de curriculum y evaluación (SPDC) as:

Aprendizaje basado en proyectos (ABPro): Estrategia didáctica en que la adquisición de las

competencias ocurre a partir de la realización de un proyecto en un tiempo determinado, para
lograr objetivos específicos relacionados con crear un servicio o un producto que responda a las
necesidades planteadas en una determinada situación, mediante la planificación, diseño, ejecución
y evaluación de una serie de actividades y el uso efectivo de recursos. En el ABPro se hace énfasis
en la orientación a la acción, proceso y producto, la relevancia práctica de las actividades y la
relación directa con situaciones reales.

OBJECTIVE
Ss will be able to design and present a product or solution to a real-life problem or challenge and
English is the prior means of communication.

ACTIVITY
Ss must create a product or service according to a problem they may find in their area of major
and present it at the end of the term, in both, written and oral presentation.

ASSESSMENT

ES05 is composed of two parts:

- Process 60% (step 1, 2, 3 and 4) and

- Final presentation 40% (step 5), according to the following table:

Steps Description Dates

1. Definition of the project Ss establish the main idea of the project; problem they March 18th (Thursday)
want to solve, planning and implementation.

2. First report Ss must produce a 150 - 170 word report. In this step April 29th (Thursday)
they must explain the main ideas of the project.

3. Information gathering Ss gather 2 or 3 papers related to the product or May 27th (Thursday)
service they want to create and check the information
with the Teacher.

4. Second report Ss present a 300 - 400 report. July 1st (Thursday)

5. Final presentation** Ss deliver an oral presentation. ________________

Note: Teachers must use the checklists published to assign grades in each step of the project
development.
