ERUPCIÓN ECTÓPICA DE CANINOS: REPORTE DE CASO
Resumen:
Abstract:
The 15-year-old male patient attended an orthodontic consultation due to "crooked teeth" and
difficulty in brushing and flossing. Upon intraoral examination, ectopic eruption of the
permanent upper canines, caries in two teeth, and a malocclusion due to the mispositioning of the
canines were diagnosed. A treatment plan was carried out that included intervention for the
caries, placement of orthodontics with Alexander slot 0.8, and the use of temporary anchorage
micro screws and intermaxillary elastics to correct the position of the teeth. The treatment was
monitored for 12 months, and a correct position of the canines, a proper dental occlusion, and an
aesthetic smile were achieved. A fixed and removable retainer was placed to maintain the correct
position of the teeth, and the patient was satisfied with the outcome.
