INGLES EN EL MUNDO DE HOY

El idioma del inglés en nuestro tiempo aparte de ser una necesidad invaluable, se
ha convertido en un valor cultural demasiado amplio en el mundo de hoy. El inglés
es sin duda el idioma universal que ha tratado de revolucionar el pensamiento del
hombre y mejorar la vida del ser humano en un alto porcentaje, y claro está, hacer
de la comunicación un elemento fundamental que nos lleven a romper las barreras
y los obstáculos para conocer, explorar e interactuar con oro tipo de culturas que
nos permiten abrir un poco más nuestro conocimiento y nuestra forma de pensar.

El inglés sin lugar a dudas durante los últimos años ha tomado muchas más fuerza
lo cual hace del inglés no solo una necesidad o un lujo, también implica desde lo
pedagógico el trascender de los estudiantes en la búsqueda de nuevos
pensamientos y nuevas teorías acerca del conocimiento con el único fin de tener
mejores oportunidades en cuanto al desarrollo profesional y personal.

Numerosos estudios sobre la importancia del inglés y en especial el realizado por

la (UNESCO 1998), “Concibe el aprendizaje de esta lengua como un derecho
consagrado, ya que representa el elemento fundamental de la formación integral
del educando como individuo y ciudadano del país y del mundo, tanto en el uso de
herramientas de carácter instrumental de la lengua como en su desarrollo
cognitivo cultural, contribuyendo además a que el hombre quiera diariamente
superarse a sí mismo y a descubrir nuevos códigos lingüísticos que le permitan
acercarse aún más al mundo cultural extenso, es decir, el suyo propio y el que se
encuentra a su alrededor”, además datos recientes de la British Council se estima
que más de 402 millones de personas en el mundo hablan el inglés como su
primera lengua, así como en la actualidad es hablado por más de 1000 millones
de hablantes no nativos, y este número seguirá creciendo al menos hasta el 2015,
año en el que, 2000 millones de personas en el mundo lo podrían estar
aprendiendo.

En cuanto a la enseñanza en las instituciones educativas, ha tenido una gran

implicación curricular, debido a que las necesidades del contexto mundial así lo
exigen, además permite ver nuevos panoramas de la realidad y explorar nuevos
entornos y ambientes enriquecedores en todo el proceso de formación del
estudiante. Los maestros de Ingles en las instituciones educativas tienen una
misión muy especial en el cuento de la educación y la formación integral, la cual
implica atraer la atención del estudiante ya que principalmente en Colombia
tenemos bajos índices de manejo de lenguas extranjeras, lo cual nos posiciona
muy mal frente a países latinoamericanos que ya presentan un mejor manejo y por
ende mayor desarrollo intelectual y cognitivo.

Por ello las estrategias y las metodologías didácticas y lúdicas llevan al estudiante
a expresarse de una forma distinta, moviéndolo a interactuar constantemente con
el conocimiento y a querer aprender más y más acerca de lo que puede ver,
percibir y sobre lo que desea aprender. Por ello es primordial que la enseñanza
sea llamativa y con mucho sentido de importancia y relevancia para los
estudiantes, ya que de esta manera cautivaremos la curiosidad y el deseo del
alumno por saber y por querer mucho más acerca de lo que le puede ofrecer una
lengua extrajera a corto, mediano y largo plazo.

Para concluir es necesario resaltar que el inglés cobra importancia cada día,
gracias a que la globalización exige romper las barreras de orden comunicacional,
que nos impiden trascender en nuestras aspiraciones de vencer nuestras
limitaciones cognitivas e intelectuales, por ello MEN del Colombia se ha trazado
como meta formar estudiantes competentes y muy centrados en las necesidades
del mundo de hoy, para cambiar las diferentes concepciones que se tienen sobre
la realidad y establecer paradigmas que nos lleven a una investigación y a un
análisis cada vez más profundo, entendiendo que debemos globalizarnos
constantemente, y donde podamos aprender que los idiomas y el lenguaje no
tienen fronteras ni territorios, ya que la enseñanza y el aprendizaje es de todos
para todos.

ENGLISH IN TODAY'S WORLD

The English language in our time apart from being an invaluable necessity, has
become too broad a cultural value in the world today. English is the universal
language certainly has tried to revolutionize human thought and improve human
life in a high percentage, and of course, make communication a key element
