PRESENTE PERFECTO
Formación:
El presente perfecto se forma con la estructura del verbo auxiliar HAVE/HAS + PASADO
PARTICIPIO del verbo principal. Este PAST PARTICIPLE corresponde a la tercera
columna de la lista de verbos irregulares y a la terminación -ed en el caso de los verbos
regulares.
Ejemplos:
I have done my homework this afternoon. He hecho mis deberes esta tarde.
He hasn´t called to his friend Lucía. No ha llamado a su amiga lucía.
Have you been in Italy?. ¿has estado en Italia?.
• Para indicar una acción que sucedió en el pasado, sin que sepamos cual fue el
momento específico en el que ocurrió.
Ejemplos:
We have been en Romania. Hemos estado en Rumanía.
I haven´t seen that movie. No he visto esa película.
• Para indicar una acción que comenzó en el pasado y que de algún modo, continúa en
el presente.
Ejemplos:
Antonio has lived here for six month. Antonio ha viviso aquí durante 6 meses.
They haven´t visited since 1999. No nos han visitado desde 1999.
• Para indicar que un acción sucede varias veces o se repite durante un tiempo que
empezó en el pasado y continúa hasta el presente.
Ejemplo:
I have gone to that Museum three times. He ido al museo tres veces.
Formación:
Ejemplos:
She has been waiting for you for an hour. Te ha estado esperando durante una hora.
John haven´t been stuyding Chinese. John no ha estado estudiando Japonés.
Have you been working in the project? ¿has estado trabajando en el proyecto?
Ejemplo:
I have been studying for the test all day. He estado estudiando para el examen todo el día.
She has been redding that book this term. He estado leyendo ese libro este trimestre.
Ejemplo:
We have lived in London for ten years. Hemos vivido en Londres durante 10 años.
SINCE: Tiene valor de “desde”. Se utiliza también para oraciones en las que sabemos
donde comienza la acción, pero no sabemos cuando termina.
Ejemplo:
Claudia hasn´t come to Australia since 2003. Claudia no ha venido a Australia desde 2003.
Ejemplos:
I haven´t finished my essay on literature yet. Todavía no he terminado mi trabajo de
literatura.
Have you made the dinner for your brother yet?. ¿Has hecho ya la cena a tu hermano?.
ALREADY: Tiene valor de “ya”. Solo puede utilizarse en oraciones afirmativas y se coloca
siempre entre el verbo auxiliar y el participio del verbo principal.
Ejemplo:
They have already sold their house. Ya han vendido su casa.

2. Rewrite the sentences with the words in the correct order. Put the verbs in bold
into the present perfect:
Luis: Look at the couple over there. They …..................(be) for five or ten minutes and they
already have their food.
Marta: He must realize we.................(not order) yet! We.................(sit) here for over half
an hour staring at him.
Luis: I don´t know if he................(notice, even) us. He.................(run) from table to table
taking orders and servong food.
