Procedimentales:
Presentación:
Estimado Estudiante:
No
She plays the piano. (Ella toca el piano) / She can play the piano. (Ella puede tocar el piano).
Estructura de la oración:
Afirmativo: Sujeto + verbo modal + verbo principal (infinitivo sin “to”) + complement
Ej. They can run very fast. (ellos pueden correr muy rápido)
Negativo: Sujeto + verbo modal + not + verbo principal (infinitivo sin “to”) + complement
AUXILIARY + TO + THE SIMPLE FORM OF To + the simple form is used with these
A VERB auxiliaries:
have to I have to study tonight. have to, don’t have to
don’t have I don’t have to study
to tonight.
Ability (Can-Can’t)
Ej. I can swim very well. (yo puedo nadar muy bien)
I know lots of sports. I can swim and I can play football. I can play basketball too because we are
learning at school! But I can’t play baseball. We don’t have baseball lessons at my school. What else
can I do? Well, I can´t speak German or French but I can speak English of course!

Advice (Should-Shouldn’t)

Negativo: Sujeto + should + not + verbo principal (infinitivo sin “to”) + complement
Ej. We shouldn’t arrive late / We should not arrive late (nosotros no deberíamos llegar tarde)
