Adjetivos superlativos en inglés

Un adjetivo superlativo es lo que usamos para expresar que algo o alguien

es quien má s sobresale en algú n aspecto. Es el equivalente a adjetivos en
españ ol como divertidísimo o el má s delgado. Para construirlos, se debe
agregar la terminació n "-est" al final del adjetivo y anteponer el artículo
the. Veamos:
Funny / divertido - Funniest / divertidísimo o muy divertido
 He is the funniest guy of my group. É l es el chico má s gracioso de mi
grupo.

Cold / frío - Coldest / muy frío

 That room is the coldest room in the whole house. Esa habitació n es
la má s fría de toda la casa.

Pretty / lindo - Prettiest / lindísimo o muy lindo

 This puppy is the prettiest dog in the neighborhood. Este cachorro es
el má s lindo del vecindario.

Nice / agradable - Nicest / muy agradable

 You are the sweetest person I have met. Eres la persona má s dulce
que he conocido.

Si una palabra termina con una consonante seguida por "-y", cambiamos
la "-y" por "-i" y luego agregamos "-est".
Angry / enojado – Angriest
 I was the angriest person. Yo fui la persona má s enojada.

Cloudy / nublado – Cloudiest

This is the cloudiest sky I have ever seen. Este es el cielo má s nublado
que he visto.
Si el adjetivo termina con consonante-vocal-consonante, y el acento va en
la ú ltima sílaba, doblamos la ú ltima consonante y después agregamos la
terminació n "-est". Por ejemplo:
Hot / caliente – Hottest
 This is the hottest beverage. Esta es la bebida má s caliente.

Sad / triste – Saddest

 That day she was the saddest girl at her school. Ese día, ella fue la
niñ a má s triste de su colegio.

Añ adimos "most" a palabras largas, es decir, si la palabra es de má s de

dos sílabas y no termina con "-y".
Expensive / costoso – Most expensive
 These are the most expensive shoes in the store. Estos son los zapatos
má s costosos en la tienda.

Beautiful / bello – Most beautiful.

 The roses are the most beautiful flowers in the garden. Las rosas son
las flores má s bellas del jardín.

Adjetivos que no siguen la regla:

Sin embargo, algunos adjetivos no siguen estas reglas, sino que cambian
totalmente. Por ejemplo:
Good___________________ the best
Bad _____________________ the worst
Far______________________No olvide que los adjetivos van antes que los sustantivos
