Introduction 83
Any simple magnifying glass, whatever the size may
be, situated in front of a window projects an inverted
image of the illuminated objects. Even without a
lens the light going through a small hole (pinhole)
on a parameter which detaches a dark room from
lightness, allows us to perceive those images on
the inside projected on the opposite wall. Apart
from inverted, that image becomes a dynamic one.
From antiquity this phenomenon was called camera
obscura 1 due to the necessity to obtain absolute
darkness in order to see the image conveniently.
An aware observer can testify this event in more
or less everyday situations: looking out the light
penetrating through the hole of an old lock or any
other incidental hole on the shutters in the gloom
