II. FUNDAMENTACIÓN.
La educación es una herramienta para preparar a los estudiantes para el
mundo complejo en el que viven, por lo tanto es indispensable que el sistema
educativo ofrezca una educación general en el área del aprendizaje de un
segundo idioma - Inglés. El valor de la misma se encuentra no sólo en la
preparación para el mundo laboral sino también en el desarrollo de un sentido de
pluralismo cultural y de valoración y apertura hacia otras culturas.
Además los alumnos que estudian una lengua extranjera - Inglés desarrollan
mayores habilidades cognitivas en áreas como la flexibilidad mental, la
creatividad, el pensamiento divergente y otras de orden superior. La competencia
auditiva y la memoria se ven favorecidas y ello agrega una dimensión significativa
adicional a la comunicación.
Aprender una segunda lengua - Inglés es mucho más que conocer su
gramática y vocabulario. Se trata de aprender nuevos sonidos, expresiones y
formas de ver la realidad; es aprender cómo funcionamos o nos desenvolvemos
en otra cultura y cómo conocer una nueva comunidad en su totalidad.
En cuanto al idioma inglés en particular, hay infinitas razones para
aprenderlo. En primer lugar, es el idioma más extensamente hablado y enseñado
en el mundo y es la Lengua Franca de los negocios. Aquel que aprenda Inglés,
podrá progresar y desarrollarse profesionalmente. Las empresas valoran a los
empleados que dominan varias lenguas extranjeras entre las que el idioma Inglés
es la más requerida. Además, es la lengua universal de Internet, las ciencias, la
tecnología, la música y el turismo internacional.

La enseñanza del idioma inglés es un objetivo fundamental en la formación

integral de nuestros estudiantes.
Es por ello que el programa de Big English 3 asegura que todos los
estudiantes se conviertan en participantes activos en cada lección mediante la
activación de los conocimientos previos de los temas y conceptos y animándoles
a compartir y expresar sus experiencias personales, ideas y opiniones en Inglés.
Big English 3 también incorpora actividades que atraen a los estudiantes que
tienen una variedad de estilos de aprendizaje. Enfocado en aprendices visuales,
auditivos y táctil/kinestésicos a través de la inclusión de ilustraciones, fotos,
organizadores gráficos (aprendices visuales), la posibilidad de escuchar y repetir
los objetivos clave de aprendizaje (alumnos auditivos), las actividades con
stickers (etiquetas), rutinas y juegos usando tacto y movimiento (aprendices
táctiles / kinestésicos).
Por otra parte, se ha tenido cuidado de proporcionar actividades que
capitalizan en la Teoría de las inteligencias múltiples de Howard Gardner: lógico-
matemática, lingüística, espacial, corporal-kinestésica, musical, naturalista,
existencial, interpersonal e intrapersonal.
Big English 3 también considera las clases con estudiantes de diferentes
capacidades, proporcionando sugerencias de instrucción diferenciada en la
edición del profesor.

III. OBJETIVOS.
3.1. General.
Desarrollar en los estudiantes la capacidad de manejar eficiente y
pertinentemente el Idioma Inglés para expresarse, comprender, procesar y
producir mensajes de manera oral y escrita.
3.2. Específicos.
 Mejorar las competencias, habilidades y desempeño del estudiante en el
aula, para lograr una expresión clara, fluida, coherente y convincente.
 Profundizar el conocimiento de conceptos relacionados con el uso del
lenguaje, el aprendizaje y la didáctica de la enseñanza del idioma Inglés.
 Permitir que los estudiantes infieran significados a partir de sus
conocimientos y experiencias previas.

 Despertar la capacidad de producción oral (narraciones y/o exposiciones)

y escrita (producción de diversos tipos de textos) a partir de experiencias
personales o grupales.
 Manejar las Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicación como
recursos de comprensión y expresión.
 Preparar al participante para rendir el Examen Internacional de Inglés.
