INTRODUCCIÓN
La materia ordinaria existe en uno de tres estados: sólido, líquido o gas. Hay un cuarto
estado de la materia llamado plasma, que es esencialmente un gas ionizado con el mismo
número de cargas positivas y negativas. Un sólido cristalino es un objeto que tiene una
estructura periódica y ordenada y como resultado tiene una forma que no cambia a menos
que esté sujeto a una fuerza externa. A medida que aumenta la temperatura, el sólido se
derrite y se convierte en líquido. Las moléculas ya no están en posiciones fijas, aunque las
interacciones entre ellas siguen siendo lo suficientemente grandes como para que el líquido
pueda cambiar de forma sin cambiar significativamente su volumen, adaptándose a su
recipiente.
