BIOGRAFIA
Físico y químico de Nelson, Nueva
Zelanda, Londres. Tras graduarse en
1893, en la universidad Christchurch,
Ernest Rutherford se trasladó a la
Universidad de Cambridge en 1895 para
trabajar como ayudante de
Joseph John Thomson. En 1898 fue
nombrado catedrático de la Universidad
McGill de Montreal, en Canadá.
A su regreso al Reino Unido en 1907 se
incorporó a la docencia en la Universidad
de Manchester, y en 1919 sucedió al
propio Thomson como director del
Cavendish Laboratory de la Universidad
de Cambridge.
