COMPOSTING SYSTEM WITH AERATION AND

MOISTURE CONTROL
INTRODUCTION AND PROBLEM
The effective composting process begins by shredding waste with a machine to reduce its
volume and improve decomposition. However, if the shredder fails, it can disrupt the process, leading
to rotting of the waste, damage to the machine and emission of pollutants into the air.

CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK
According to Farming Equipment and Machinery (2020), the most extensive system for carrying out the
composting with simplicity, reduced costs and high quality is broken down into three designs. First, we
find the manual floor composter; second, the medium-sized, hand-rotating composter; and finally, the
industrial composter. This variety of options significantly influences the amount of organic matter we can METHODOLOGICAL ROUTE
handle and our ability to establish effective control over various factors such as moisture, aeration and
pH. This, in turn, contributes to more efficient and economical compost distribution. In addition, this
diversity of designs broadens the application possibilities of traditional composting, allowing us to work
on side slopes and on soils of low consistency.

RESULTS
• Definition of the design of the complete machine.
• 3D construction of the composting machine.
• Evaluation of good compost.
• Construction of the first design of the assigned parameters.
