Hurricanes have always been a normal part of weather.

Los huracanes siempre han sido una parte normal del clima.

In 1966, satellites began to monitor the North Atlantic Ocean on a daily basis
and, there have been an average of six hurricanes at least every year since.

But... and this is a very important but.... more and more studies are showing
that human-caused climate change is influencing the size and destructive power
of these storms.

A warming world is making our weather weirder and more unpredictable.

And it’s not only heavier rains and bigger storms.

Temperatures are climbing which triggers droughts and heat waves.

But something that I find strange is that the effects of global warming aren’t
always what you expect.

For instance, the summertime sea ice in the Arctic Ocean is rapidly
disappearing but the winters in Siberia are getting colder.

Now, why's that I wonder?
