ningún síntoma, especialmente si no realiza habitualmente ejercicio físico.
- Cansancio
- Palidez cutánea
- Taquicardia
- Dificultad respiratoria
What is anemia?
Anemia is defined as a decrease in the number of red blood cells (or red blood cells) in the
blood or in hemoglobin levels from normal values.
The main function of red blood cells is the transport of oxygen in the blood and its release in
the different tissues. Oxygen is transported inside the red blood cell attached to
hemoglobin.
Certain types of anemia can be severe, long-lasting, and even life-threatening if left
undiagnosed and treated.
Anemia can be established acutely or chronically and the symptoms are different depending
precisely on the speed with which it appeared.
The patient may be pale, with a low coloration of the skin and mucous membranes.
Headache may occur and, in patients with cardiovascular disease, angina pectoris may be
triggered.
However, in anemias that develop over a very long period of time, the body adapts its
systems to that anemia and the patient may have very few or almost no symptoms,
especially if they do not regularly exercise.
- Fatigue
- Skin paleness
- Tachycardia
- Breathing difficulties
- Fragility of hair and/or nails
When anemia develops very suddenly, as in acute bleeding, the symptoms depend above all
on the loss of blood volume inside the vessels and different degrees of vascular collapse,
pallor, sweating, tachycardia and arterial hypotension may develop. , being able to endanger
the life of the patient.
