A long me ago, a girl named Julie lived in the woods. Her mother and father built a lile log house from
trees that had fallen down. Julie played all day with deer and rabbits. At night she and her parents ate
dinner in the warm cabin.Julie had a good life, but she was lonely. She leaned her head against a tall oak
tree. “I wish I had a friend”, she said.
A bright light flashed, and a prey woman stepped out of the oak. “I am the fairy of the tree,” she said.
“Because you are so kind, the trees will talk to you.” She touched Julie´s head with a branch, and then
vanished. From then on, Julie could hear all the trees talking. She learned their names. She learned how to
care for them. The trees became her friends, and she was never lonely again.
