UNIT 10 SHOULD INGLÉS EXPRESS
Now, do you remember the example about the person who comes and says that he has a stomach
problem? And you tell him:
Do you remember that the translation for that in Spanish could be:
And do you remember that you could see the same person one week later in a hospital but in a
very complicated situation and you tell him exactly the same sentence?:
or
No
should

UNIT 10 SHOULD INGLÉS EXPRESS
Now let’s suppose that one week after that episode, you see your friend, again but this time in a
hospital, in a very complicated situation and you tell him the same sentence:
should
“shud”

Reading
When I see my friend Alan, I always think that he’s not ok. I think he should see a doctor because
he works and works and never sleeps. I could go with Alan to see a doctor now but he doesn’t
want to go.
He says that he’s ok and that everything’s ok. I think he should live a little. Life’s beautiful and you
have to have time to see your friends, the family; I think we should have time to do the things that
we love, you know. It is important. It’s not all about work.
I want to help my friend, I want to help him but when I talk to him about his problem, he always
says that he doesn’t have a problem. He says that he’s fine and that everything is ok, he says that
he loves his office and that he’s happy there and he says that we shouldn’t tell him what to do. He
says that we shouldn’t worry about him.
I always invite him to come with me when I have a party or when we go out but he never wants to
go out with me. I don’t know what to do. I want to take care of my friend. I want to help him but I
don’t know what to do or what to think.
He’s my friend and I’m worried about him. What should we do? What would you do? What can we
do to help him? What do we do? What could we do? Should we speak with him? Please, help me. I
don’t know what I should do. Write me back when you can
