For them, a new anchoring profile is required and this leads to it being carried out in non-
urban areas, but when it is required in urbanized areas, it will have to be carried out with
the corresponding permission from the municipal or state authorities, isolating the surface
or the object to clean. It must be ensured that the abrasive materials used do not
contaminate the surfaces with residues.
siguientes:
The degrees of cleanliness referred to in surface preparation are those that guarantee

These degrees of cleanliness are obtained with the dry abrasive blasting method with
compressed air and may be referred to as similar for other cleaning methods.
6.2.3 Limpieza con chorro abrasivo húmedo. / Wet abrasive blast cleaning.
This method is an alternative to dry abrasive blast cleaning and can be applied on
unpainted steel with any degree of corrosion (A, B, C or D), but preferably on steel with
corrosion A and B, where the surface has not yet it has pitting and an anchor profile is
required.
The difference between this method and the dry abrasive is that water is used as a means
of transport, which in turn prevents the emission of dust into the atmosphere.

The application of a coating can be done with various tools: brush, roller and spray with
or without air. When specifying a coating system, it is necessary to indicate with what
equipment the application will be carried out and what thickness is required. A very high
percentage of coating failures in the field are due to poor coating application. Given the
importance of the application in a coating system, it is important to mention that even the
most sophisticated protective coating will perform poorly if it is not applied correctly.
Temperatura: / Temperature:
sea inferior a 4°C o superior a 43°C.
Coatings should not be applied when the ambient temperature is below 4°C or above
43°C. If the coating is applied above 43°C, it can cause the film to dry too soon and bring
consequences such as non-uniform thickness and poor adhesion.
Humedad:/ Humidity:
The adhesion of most coatings, except those that are water-based, is seriously impaired
if the surface to be coated is contaminated with water. Painting should be avoided when
the ambient relative humidity is greater than 85%.
Viento: Wind:

The application of coatings by spraying becomes more difficult when the wind speed
increases, because the coating that is applied does not protect the designated area, with
the consequent waste of coating; the appearance of the painted surface generally falls
short of the desired coating thickness, because the atomized particles dry before touching
the surface. Also, airborne coating particles can contaminate adjacent areas.

grid cut should be made 2 mm apart and 6 cuts per side. For films over 5 mils (125 μm).
After making the necessary cuts, brush the film lightly with a soft brush or tissue paper to
remove any loose layers or tapes of coatings.

This test is only recommended for thicker film coatings, i.e. thicknesses greater than 500
μm (20 mils), reinforced coatings and elastomeric coatings.
In general, the Pull-off test is performed with an adhesive, a witness (aluminum dolly)
placed perpendicular to the surface of the coating. After curing of the adhesive the
portable gauge is placed on the test core and aligned to apply a tension perpendicular to
the tested surface
