ROADTEC RUBBER TRACK PAVERS ARE EQUIPPED WITH TRACKS THAT UTILIZE A
HYDRAULIC TENSIONER SYSTEM. IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN PROPER
PERFORMANCE AND EVEN WEAR, THE TRACK TENSION SHOULD BE
OCCASIONALLY CHECKED AND ADJUSTED AS NEEDED. A CHECK OF THE
HYDRAULIC PRESSURE SHOULD BE PERFORMED EVERY 100 HOURS OF
OPERATION. THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE WILL AID IN THE EXPLANATION OF
HOW TO CHECK AND ADJUST TRACK TENSIONER PRESSURE.
9) APAGUE EL MOTOR.

TRACK TENSION PROCEDURE
BEFORE PERFORMING THIS PROCEDURE, PARK THE MACHINE ON LEVEL GROUND
WITH THE TRAVEL CONTROLS IN NEUTRAL AND THE PARKING BRAKE APPLIED.
1) START THE TRACK TENSIONING PROCEDURE AT THE RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE MACHINE.
2) WITH THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN, ATTACH THE PRESSURE RELIEF HOSE TO THE TRACK
TENSION DRAIN PORT TO RELIEVE TRACK TENSION (FIGURE 1).

4) ATTACH A PORT-A-POWER TO ONE SIDE OF THE “T” FITTING AND A 5,000 LBS. PRESSURE
GAUGE TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE “T” FITTING.
5) START THE ENGINE. THE GAUGE SHOULD READ 1000 PSI., WHICH IS THE INITIAL PRESSURE.

6) SI LA PRESIÓN INICIAL NO ES 1000 PSI., ENTONCES TENDRÁ QUE SER AJUSTADO. INICIAL
LA PRESIÓN SE PUEDE AJUSTAR EN LA VÁLVULA DE TENSIÓN DE LA PISTA (FIGURAS 2 Y 3).

7) DISCONNECT THE DIN CONNECTOR FROM THE RIGHT HAND TRACK VALVE (FIGURE 4).

8) PUMP THE PORT-A-POWER UNTIL PRESSURE ON THE GAUGE STOPS RISING. PRESSURE
SHOULD READ 2300 PSI., WHICH IS RECOIL PRESSURE.
9) IF RECOIL PRESSURE IS NOT 2300 PSI, THEN IT WILL HAVE TO BE ADJUSTED. RECOIL
PRESSURE CAN BE ADJUSTED AT THE TRACK TENSION VALVE (FIGURES 2 & 3).

7) DISCONNECT THE DIN CONNECTOR FROM THE RIGHT HAND TRACK VALVE (FIGURE 4).
8) PUMP THE PORT-A-POWER UNTIL PRESSURE ON THE GAUGE STOPS RISING. PRESSURE
SHOULD READ 2300 PSI., WHICH IS RECOIL PRESSURE.
9) IF RECOIL PRESSURE IS NOT 2300 PSI, THEN IT WILL HAVE TO BE ADJUSTED. RECOIL
PRESSURE CAN BE ADJUSTED AT THE TRACK TENSION VALVE (FIGURES 2 & 3).

11) IF THE RESET PRESSURE DOES NOT READ 1200 PSI. THEN IT WILL HAVE TO BE ADJUSTED.
RESET PRESSURE CAN BE ADJUSTED AT THE TRACK TENSION VALVE (FIGURES 2 & 3).
12) SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AND RELIEVE THE TRACK TENSION PRESSURE ON BOTH THE
RIGHT AND LEFT HAND SIDE TRACKS AS DISCUSSED IN STEP 2.
13) SWAP THE RECOIL PRESSURE CATRIDGES (FIGURE 5). BY DOING THIS THE LEFT HAND
TRACK IS NOW PROPERLY TENSIONED. YOU CAN NOW SET THE RIGHT HAND TRACK TENSION.

AJUSTADO.
LA PRESION DE RESTABLECIMIENTO PUEDE SER AJUSTADA EN LA VÁLVULA DE TENSIÓN DE LA
PISTA (FIGURAS 2 Y 3).
13) SWAP LOS GOLPES DE LA PRESIÓN RECOIL (FIGURA 5). HACIENDO ESTO LA MANO IZQUIERDA
LA PISTA ESTÁ AHORA ADECUADAMENTE TENSIONADA. AHORA PUEDE ESTABLECER LA TENSIÓN
DE LA PISTA DERECHA.

14) REPEAT THE SAME PROCESS IN STEPS 1-11. ONCE THIS IS COMPLETED BOTH TRACKS
WILL BE PROPERLY TENSIONED.

TRACK TENSION PROCEDURE
BEFORE PERFORMING THIS PROCEDURE, PARK THE MACHINE ON LEVEL GROUND
WITH THE TRAVEL CONTROLS IN NEUTRAL AND THE PARKING BRAKE APPLIED.
1) START THE TRACK TENSIONING PROCEDURE AT THE RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE MACHINE.
2) WITH THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN, ATTACH THE PRESSURE RELIEF HOSE TO THE TRACK
TENSION DRAIN PORT TO RELIEVE TRACK TENSION (FIGURE 1).

3) REMOVE THE RELIEF HOSE AND ATTACH A “T” FITTING TO THE TENSION DRAIN PORT
4) ATTACH A PORT-A-POWER TO ONE SIDE OF THE “T” FITTING AND A 5,000 LBS. PRESSURE
GAUGE TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE “T” FITTING.
5) START THE ENGINE. THE GAUGE SHOULD READ 1800 PSI., WHICH IS THE INITIAL PRESSURE.

7) DISCONNECT THE DIN CONNECTOR FROM THE RIGHT HAND TRACK VALVE (FIGURE 4).
8) PUMP THE PORT-A-POWER UNTIL PRESSURE ON THE GAUGE STOPS RISING. PRESSURE
SHOULD READ 3500 PSI., WHICH IS RECOIL PRESSURE.
9) IF RECOIL PRESSURE IS NOT 3500 PSI, THEN IT WILL HAVE TO BE ADJUSTED. RECOIL
PRESSURE CAN BE ADJUSTED AT THE TRACK TENSION VALVE (FIGURES 2 & 3).

TRACK TENSION PROCEDURE
10) WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING AT IDLE, RECONNECT THE DIN CONNECTOR TO THE RIGHT
HAND TRACK VALVE. THE PRESSURE GAUGE SHOULD DROP DOWN TO 2400 PSI, WHICH IS
RESET PRESSURE.
11) IF THE RESET PRESSURE DOES NOT READ 2400 PSI. THEN IT WILL HAVE TO BE ADJUSTED.
RESET PRESSURE CAN BE ADJUSTED AT THE TRACK TENSION VALVE (FIGURES 2 & 3).
12) SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AND RELIEVE THE TRACK TENSION PRESSURE ON BOTH THE
RIGHT AND LEFT HAND SIDE TRACKS AS DISCUSSED IN STEP 2.
13) SWAP THE RECOIL PRESSURE CATRIDGES (FIGURE 5). BY DOING THIS THE LEFT HAND
TRACK IS NOW PROPERLY TENSIONED. YOU CAN NOW SET THE RIGHT HAND TRACK TENSION.
