A couple of friends enter a restaurant and take a seat. / Un
par de amigos entran en un restaurante y toman asiento.
Waiter: Good moorning. May I take your order? / Buenos días.
¿Puedo tomar su orden?
Customer 1: Yes. I’d like the chicken and corn. / Sí. Me gustaría
el pollo y el elote.
Customer 2: I’d rather the grilled tuna, please. / Yo prefiero el
atún a la parrilla, por favor.
Waiter: Perfect. Would you like something to drink? /
Perfecto. ¿Quieren algo de beber?
Customer 2: A glass of red wine and a coke. / Una copa de vino
tinto y una coca.
Waiter: Alright, I’ll be back in a minute. / De acuerdo, volveré en
un minuto.
Customer 1: (Looking outside) If it starts raining we will
have to cancel the appointment. / (Mirando hacia afuera) Si
empieza a llover tendremos que cancelar la cita.

Customer 2: Don’t worry. We can go another day. / No te

preocupes. Podemos ir otro día.
IN THE KITCHEN
Chef 2: (Reading the note) That sounds easy, but how do I
make it? / (Leyendo la nota) Eso suena fácil, pero ¿cómo lo hago?
Chef 1: First, you need to cook the chicken. / Primero necesitas
cocinar el pollo.
Chef 2: Can you tell me how to do it right? / ¿Puedes decirme
cómo hacerlo bien?
Chef 1: If you heat water to 100 degrees, it boils. When it
happens you have to put the chicken in the pot. / Si calientas
el agua a 100 grados, hierve. Cuando eso pase, pon el pollo en la olla.
Chef 2: Is there anything else I need to do? / ¿Hay algo más
que deba hacer?
Chef 1: Just be careful, if you leave the chicken for a long
time, it can be overcooked. / Sólo ten cuidado, si dejas el pollo por
mucho tiempo, puede estar demasiado cocido.
Chef 2: Thank you, i hope to do it well. / Gracias, espero hacerlo
bien.
Chef 1: Don’t worry. If you practice, you will be an expert. /
No te preocupes, si practicas serás un experto.
AFTER THE MEAL
Waiter: Can I get you anything else? / ¿Puedo traerles algo más?

Costumer 2: No thanks, I’d like the check please. (See the

check and cough) / No gracias, me gustaría la cuenta, por favor.
(Mira la cuenta y tose)
Costumer 1: (Whisper) If you need money I will lend it to
you… Here you are, keep the change. / (Susurra) Si necesitas
dinero te lo prestaré. (Paga) Aquí tienes, quédate el cambio.
Waiter: Thank you! / ¡Gracias!
