A la fecha, las estadísticas en MYSRL muestran que el 38.9% de accidentes son relacionados a tránsito.

Una de las maneras de disminuir nuestros accidentes de tránsito es el MANEJAR A LA DEFENSIVA

A way to reduce our traffic related accidents is to DRIVE DEFENSIVELY

Manejar a la defensiva no solamente implica tomar responsabilidad por ti mismo sino

también estar atento “a la otra persona”. Se sugieren las siguientes reglas para
reducir los riesgos en la carretera:
Driving defensively means not only taking responsibility for yourself and your
actions but also keeping an eye on "the other guy." Here are some suggested
guidelines to help reduce your risks on the road:
 No encienda el vehículo antes de asegurarse que todo pasajero dentro del vehículo utilice su
cinturón de seguridad. ¡Los cinturones de seguridad salvan miles de vidas cada año! Asegure todas las
puertas.
 Don't start the engine without ensuring that each passenger in the car is using his seat belt. Safety belts
save thousands of lives each year! Lock all doors.
 En transporte de personal, los pasajeros de la primera fila y el pasajero en el asiento central de la última fila
necesitan utilizar cinturón de seguridad.
 In personal transport vehicles passengers traveling in the first row and in the middle position of the last
row need to use seat belts.
 Recuerde que el manejar muy rápido o muy lento aumenta la posibilidad de choques
 Remember that driving too fast or too slow increases the likelihood of collisions.
 El alcohol es un factor en mas de la mitad de todos los accidentes vehiculares
 Alcohol is a factor in almost half of all fatal motor vehicle crashes.
 ¡Este siempre alerta! Si ve que el vehículo delante de Ud. va por el centro, zigzaguea, se detiene
abruptamente o reacciona lentamente a las señales de tránsito, el chofer puede tener algún problema.
 Be alert! If you notice that a car is straddling the centerline, weaving, making wide turns, stopping abruptly
or responding slowly to traffic signals, the driver may be impaired, and you need to drive appropriately.
 Notifique a la policía inmediatamente si ve un conductor que maneja de manera sospechosa. En la mina
notifique a su supervisor o al Centro de Control de Seguridad.
 Notify the police immediately after seeing a motorist who is driving suspiciously. In the mine notify your
supervisor or Emergency Response Control Center.
 Siga las reglas establecidas. No acelere mientras un vehículo lo está adelantando. Sea respetuoso de otros
conductores.
 Follow the rules of the road. Don't contest the "right of way" or try to race
another car during a merge. Be respectful of other motorists.
 Mientras maneja, sea cauteloso, atento y responsable.
 While driving, be cautious, aware and responsible.
