Fue una mujer educada, nacida en la Peninsula de Paraguana en 1791, hija de

padres acaudalados, a sus 20 años, reunió a un grupo de mujeres que querían
participar en la lucha armada formando el grupo denominado las barinesas; mujer
de piel blanca, alta, cabello negro, carácter fuerte, lidereza, formada con los
valores revolucionarios y patrióticos.
