8. Ifa advises you not to engage in lying, falsehood, or

treachery. You must also avoid any act of conspiracy against
anybody. Ifa says that you need to offer ebo in order to be able
to find solutions to certain problems that have become a source
of anxiety for you. You need to offer ebo with one he-goat and
money. To propitiate Ifa with a she-goat and to also feed
Obatala. On this, Ifa says:

Translation
The feaces of birds have whitish colouration
The boa conscriptor with its irregular skin pattern
This was the Ifa cast for Oosanla Ogiribajigbo
When lamenting his inability to bear a child
When they are suffering from want
They would engage in falsehood
We must never break the oath of friendship
These were the messages of Ifa for Orunmila
When he wanted to turn albino into a dark skinned
person

9. Ifa advises you not to eat Akara (fried bean cake). You must
not engage in selling it either. Ifa says that if you are engaging
in a business whereby people come, buy and eat-in, you must
not allow the eat-in situation in order to avoid trouble. In this
regard, you need to offer ebo with three roosters and money.
On this, Ifa says:

Osusu owo abenu saasuu

Dia fun Arokomoja
O nlo ba won dako eba ona
Won ni ko ru’bo
 Ko ma je Akara fun ojo merindinlogun
O koti ogbonyin s’ebo
Nje Arokomoja
Ma j’Akara oran si mi lorun

Translation
A broom with unevenly scattered tip
This was the Ifa cast for Arokomoja
When going to cultivate a farm at the road side
He was advised to offer ebo
And not to Akara (fried bean cake) for 16 days
He refused to comply
Please, Arokomoja
Do not eat fried cake and cause trouble for me
Arokomoja

10. Ifa says that some people are engaging in contention and
litigation against you. Ifa advises you to offer ebo to avoid or
overcome such contention and litigation. You need to offer ebo
with two roosters, plenty Ajoopa kolanuts and money. On this,
Ifa says:

Aja peran je ma wii

Dia fun Orunmila
Teku-teja yoo pe baba lejo eru
Lalede orun
Ebo ni won ni ko waa se
O wa di adalu-adese
Teku-teja
O di adalu-adese

Translation
A dog killed an animal but keeps mute
This was the Ifa cast for Orunmila
When rats and fish sued him to the courts in heaven
for not sharing proceeds with them
 He was advised to offer ebo
He complied
It has now become a mixed up
All rats and fish
It has become a mixed up

12. Ifa advises you not to seduce another woman’s husband or

take over another person’s belonging. Even though, Ifa
foresees ire of longevity for you. You must however not engage
in the acts mentioned above. If this thought had been going on
in your mind, Ifa advises you to discard such thought, as grave
consequences will surely follow such act. Ifa says that the real
owner of such article is more powerful and he will be ready to
go to any length to visit vengeance on such person.
On the other hand, if this act had been committed, Ifa advises
you to relinquish such act forthwith and to offer ebo for the
protection of your life with a matured he-goat. On this, Ifa says:

Dia fun Nibo-lo-wa obinrin Ogidan

Eeyan o fe Nibo-lo-wa
Yoo ri ekun toju-tenu

Differently do the snakes crawl into the bush
This was the message of Ifa to Nibo-lo-wa, the wife
of Ogidan
Do not marry her, it is a taboo
 Whoever marries Nibo-lo-wa will surely witness the
anger of a Leopard

13. Ifa advises you to be steadfast and consistent in your

worship and approach to Olodumare. Ifa says that you are
spiritually in tune with the invisible world and should do
everything possible to advance more in the studies in order to
receive abundant blessings from Irunmole and Olodumare.
Ifa however advises you to offer ebo with four rats, four fish,
four pigeons, four guinea fowls and money. You also need to
feed Ifa, Egungun and Oosanla. On this, Ifa says:

Baa ba se bo Eegun
Leegun se ngbe ni
Baa ba se bo Oosa
L’oosa se ngba
Baa ba b’Ope laboye
O ma nsiju ire e wo ni
Dia fun Orunmla
Baba nlo ree gba irinwo ade lati orun wale aye
Won ni ko rubo
O gb’ebo, o ru’bo

Translation
The way we propitiate Egungun
Is the same way Egungun supports one
The way-we propitiate Oosa
Is the way Orisa accepts our propitiation
If we propitiate Ifa contentiously
It will surely bless us with ire
These were Ifa’s messages to Orunmila
When going to heaven to receive 400 crowns to the
world
He was advised to offer ebo

14. Ifa advises that whenever you or your loved ones are
pregnant, there is the need to offer ebo in order to avert any
incident especially during child delivery. Ifa says that you must
take necessary precautions in order to enable easy delivery at
child birth. You need to offer with two hens and money.
Ifa also advises you to offer ebo against problems of affliction of
the lower limbs. These problems include rheumatisms, arthritis,
paralysis and other related ailments. You also need to offer ebo
in order not to lose the wealth and success that is coming to
you. You need to avert a situation where you will labour very
hard and at the end of which all will be lost. You however need
to offer ebo with two hens and money. On these Ifa says.

death

Behold! All adherents of Ope (Holy palm tree)
Whoever is advised to offer ebo should comply

15. Ifa foresees ire of good home and spouse for you. Ifa says
that you shall experience happiness and joy. Ifa says that you
need to catch in on traveling opportunities as there are success
chances abound. To realize this, you need to offer ebo with two
bottles of honey, two roosters, two hens and money. On this,
Ifa says:

Oko bagi seyin wa boloko

Dia fun Orunmila
Ifa nloo k’ogun ogbe isu loko
Won ni ko karanle ebo ni sise
O gbebo, o rubo
A gbe isa le’na
Oyin wa nse mi sinringunsin

Translation:
A stone that hits the tree bounces back to hit the
thrower
This was the message of Ifa for Orunmila
When going to cultivate a large expanse of land for
yam planting in the farm
He was advised to offer ebo
He complied
We have put a pot of yam on fire
Here comes abundant blessing

16. In the stanza below, Ifa reiterates and emphasizes on

maintenance of sound health for you. Ifa advises you to keep
regular check on your health in order to avoid an ailment that
may render you bedridden for a long time. However, you need
to offer ebo with a matured he-goat. Ifa says that there is
nothing as satisfying as for one to always be in good health.
Maintenance of good health is golden for this person and it
includes good diet, regular exercise, sound sleep, and sound
physical and mental health, regular medical/spiritual check-up
from time to time. On this, Ifa says:
Erin lo ri asa
Erin sa
Efon lo ri poolo ija fohun ran
Ogboogbo ira lo gori iroko
Lo ragahun tantan
 A ni ki ara aye o le baa gbo
Ki ero orun o le baa mo
Difa fun Olu-Ogodo Omikan
Omo kinni nkan to dun leyo to ju oyin lo
Ko ma si ohun to dun leyo
Bii ka ji k’ara o le
Ajinde l’agba

Translation
An elephant saw the spear
And took to its heels
A buffalo also saw the deadly trap and shouted
A beautiful zebra is it that mounts the Iroko tree and
made a deafening sound
In order for the people of the world to hear
And the heavenly ones to be aware of it
These were Ifa’s messages to Olu-Ogodo Omikan

than honey?’
Like waking up with sound health
Sound health is supreme
