PROLOGO

articles (a, an) y definite articles (the).
Ejemplo:
Ms Smith is in a hotel room.
Ejemplo:
There is a bed, a carpet and a bedside table.
Ms Smith has got two pieces of luggage: a suitcase and a handbag.
delante de los nombres del sustantivo.
Beispiel:
Ms Smith is a businesswomen
Ejemplo:
There is a bed, a carpet and a bedside table in the room.
Sin artículo
Ejemplo:
Businesswomen travel a lot.
The businesswomen that I know travel a lot.
Hotels are very expensive.
The hotels in this area are affordable.
Nombres de ciudades, calles, plazas o parques.
Ejemplo:
Ms Smith is in Dublin. Her hotel is in Merrion Street between Fitzwilliam
Square and Merrion Park.
concepto como Kingdom, Republic, State, Union.
Ejemplo:
Dublin is in Ireland.
Miami is in the United States.
We go to the Netherlands every summer.
Ejemplo:
She travelled to Ireland in May. She arrived on Monday.
Pero: She arrived on a rainy Monday.
Comidas.
Ejemplo:
The hotel serves breakfast between 8 and 10 o’clock.
Ejemplo:
The children go to school.
Pero: Her son and my daughter go to the same school.
Ejemplo:
Life is complicated.
Hope dies last.
What's on TV today?

ADJECTIVES
Estructura 1:
Sujeto + Verbo “To be” + Adjetivo
Ejemplos:
Tom is shy.
Maria is happy.
Estructura 2:
Sujeto + Verbo + Adjetivo + Sustantivo
Ejemplos:
That is a big building!
Julian has a fast car.
o varias cosas o personas.
Ejemplos:
My favourite flowers are roses. (Mis flores favoritas son las rosas).
She owns a large apartment. ( Es dueña de un gran apartamento).

EIGHTH LESSON
Ejemplo:
26 = Twenty-six
85 = Eighty-five
39 = Thirty-nine
52 = Fifty-two
73 = Seventy-three
48 = Forty-eight
64 = Sixty-four
1.2. CIEN, MIL Y MILLÓN / HUNDRED, THOUSAND AND MILLION:
1,590,572 = One million five hundred and ninety thousand five hundred
seventy-two
Example 1:
In the word, “MAGNIFICENT”, which is the fifth and seventh letter?
Solution:
MAGNIFICENT has eleven letters.
Both fifth and seventh position, in the word, has the same letter, i.e., I.
Fifth letter – I
Seventh letter – I
Example 2:
Aravind, Brinda, David, and Ellie are the students of a class, standing in a row, in the
given order. Who is in the second position?
Solution:
If Aravind, Brinda, David, and Ellie are standing in the given order, then Brinda is in
the second position.
