The decisions we make every day when we have to solve a problem are of utmost
importance, but it is even more important to make decisions when choosing a
career that will help determine your professional life. That said, this leads us to the
following question: What influences the decision making process when choosing a
university career? The complexity of this question is influenced by many factors, so
we identified the causes of young people's indecision in choosing a university
career. We used a mixed research paradigm and technique since it allows us to
measure and collect both qualitative and quantitative information. The main
instruments we used were observation, data analysis and surveys; which showed
us our main results which were: students do not have a correct orientation in order
to understand in which points they stand out more and thus know that they do not
only choose a career because they like it, the location of the universities far from
their home and family pressure is one of the points to highlight since many young
people choose their careers by family pressure either directly or indirectly. By
prioritizing the most repetitive answers, we were able to solve the problem of
choosing a university career in a broad manner.
