ABSTRACT.
In the investigation out, Applying reverse logistics in the metal reuse process in Colombia, metal
recycling is an important process that allows products made of metals to be reintroduced into the
production process to manufacture new metals. And the circular economy related to the reuse of
metallic material in the different areas of production. This reduces the amount of waste and the
amount of primary raw materials. emitting less carbon dioxide. In Colombia, two types of metallic
waste were found in the so-called urban mining, ferrous (steel, iron and cast iron) and non-ferrous
(aluminum, bronze, copper, brass and others), companies such as CI METALOC SAS,
INGERECUPERAR, ECOMETAL JR, C.I. GREENMETAL S.A.S, among others, using different processes
took advantage of the main residues. In turn, SUMICOL and the Vice Chancellor of Extension of the
University of Antioquia have formed an alliance to develop a portfolio with nanotechnology,
achieving microencapsulation and nanosystems based on non-metallic minerals for industrial use.
The association was based on the strategic vision of the two institutions for high-level technical
and competitive development. On the other hand, the circular green economy is a good source of
income thanks to the recycling of metals. Businessmen minimized the use of metals and
encouraged recycling, obtaining economic and tax benefits. The implementation of reverse
logistics models in industrialists activated the circular economy and promotes the recycling of
materials.
