El examen consta de dos instancias: una escrita y una oral. Cada instancia se evalúa
en un día diferente. La instancia escrita es eliminatoria y debe ser aprobada para
poder rendir el examen oral.
2.Un ejercicio de escritura (25 puntos): los candidatos deben redactar un texto
en inglés de entre 240 y 260 palabras. Cuentan con 60 minutos para completar el
ejercicio. Los candidatos tendrán tres opciones, de las cuales deberán elegir una.
Los formatos de texto posibles son: una carta informal, una carta formal, un
artículo de revista/diario, un ensayo, una carta al editor, una narración breve, un
e-mail, entre otros. Los temas estarán relacionados con el texto leído en el ejercicio
de comprensión lectora. A fin de evaluar esta parte del examen, se tendrán en
cuenta los siguientes criterios:
a. Coherencia y cohesión del texto.
b. Precisión en el uso del idioma inglés.
c. Variedad y complejidad de estructuras gramaticales.
d. Amplitud de recursos lexicales (vocabulario).
e. Ortografía y puntuación.
Los siguientes criterios son utilizados por los evaluadores para otorgar una
nota final al aspirante:
Coherencia y cohesión.
Fluidez.
Precisión gramatical.
Variedad de recursos lexicales y gramaticales.
Gestión del discurso.
Interacción.
Pronunciación y entonación.
Cuanto más complejos y correctos sean los recursos gramaticales utilizados, mayor
sea el repertorio lingüístico, más amplio el uso de marcadores discursivos, más
correcta la entonación y más oportunidades de interacción genere el candidato,
mayor será la nota.

Examen escrito: 40 puntos
Examen oral: 30 puntos
Total: 70 puntos
● Adjetivos:
o Grado commparativo (por ejemplo: smaller than… ; more intelligent
than…)
o Grado superlativo (por ejemplo: the smallest; the most intelligent)
o the… + the… (the taller, the better; the more difficult the test is the
more I learn)
● Adjetivos compuestos (a well-dressed man; a good-looking girl; a five-dollar
bill; a two-hour journey, etc)
● Adverbios
o Adverbios de grado (nearly, really, completely, etc)
o Adverbios de frecuencia (sometimes, never, always, etc)
o Adverbios de opinión (luckily, fortunately, regrettably, etc)
o Adverbios de lugar y tiempo (here, there, tomorrow, yesterday, etc)
● Artículos definidos e indefinidos (the, a, an, zero article) .
● Be used to; get used to (ejemplos: “I am used to getting up early”; “I must
get used to working here”).
● Used to and would (ejemplos: “I used to live here”; “When I was a child, I
would get up early”).
● Cláusulas relativas (ejemplos: “the man who came yesterday…”; “the book
which/that I read last night”, “the person whose house was broken in…”)
● Conectores y preposiciones (as, while, whereas, in spite of, despite,
although, etc)
● Cuantificadores/ Determinantes / Pronombres indefinidos:
o Many, much, a lot, a few, few, a little, little, enough, too many, too
much, etc.
o All, none, both, every, neither, no, either…or, both…and,
● Diferencia entre as y like.
● Diferencia entre another y other.
● Diferencia entre if y whether.
● Diferencia entre there is y there are.
● Diferencia entre would prefer y would rather.
o “I would rather go to the cinema” v. “I would prefer to go to the

● Formación de palabras (Word formation):
o Uso de prefijos (incredible, unbelievable, irreplaceable,
misunderstanding, disappear, malfunction, rewrite, etc)
o Uso de sufijos (happiness, critically, responsible, conclusion,
careful, etc)

● Uso del gerundio y el infinitivo.
● Verbos seguidos de infinitivo (to decide, to promise, to need, etc)
● Verbos seguidos de gerundio (to avoid, to suggest, to keep, etc)
● Diferencias entre el uso del infinitivo (“I must remember to send this
email”) y el uso del gerundio (“I clearly remember sending this email”)
● El verbo need + gerundio (ejemplo: “this plant needs watering”)
● Can’t stand + gerundio
