COUNTABLE / UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS


 Los nombres contables son los que se pueden contar por unidades y tienen plural. .
ej. una piña, tres manzanas, cuatro naranjas.
 Nombres incontables son los sustantivos que no podemos contar por unidades sino que
se hace por peso o envase. Ej dos botellas de leche, una libra de carne, un kilo de queso
 En inglés se utilizan expresiones como: A glass of water, A bowl of A slice of bread, A cup
of coffee, A botlle of milk.

SOME= Afirmativo unos, algunos, algún, algo de
ANY=unos, algunos, unos, ningún, nada y lo utilizamos para la forma interrogativa y
negativa,
Are there any apples? = hay manzanas?
Is there any coffee? = hay café?
SOME / ANY = Los utilizamos con contables y no contables.

NUTRITION AND HEALT
Why is food important for your body?

For today we are going to talk about a balanced diet with nutrients, proteins, vitamins and minerals,
carbohydrates, fats and also fibre.
1) Read:
Nutritionist say:
-Vitamins and minerals help you grow properly. Fruit and vegatables are important because
they give you vitamins.
-Protein is an important nutrient. Protein increases your body mass and it also helps your
muscles to grow big and strong. Types of food= meat, chicken, dried beans, dairy products
and nuts.
- Fibre helps your body to digest food. Types of food= cereals and whole grain.
-Carbohydrates give the energy. Types of food= bread, starches (potatoes, rice, pasta),
sweets.
2) Here is some information about traditional Colombian dishes.
 It is a pig stuffed with yellow rice, pea puree and pork meat. You eat with arepa (a
corn bread). It is salty and it has a strong flavor.
 It consist of white rice, red beans, ground beef, black pudding, fried pork skin,
arepa, avocado and fried egg.
 It has chicken or fish. It contains yucca, corn and you eat it with rice and banana.
 Answer these questions:
a. What are the names of the before dishes.
b. Where are these dishes from?
c. Are those traditional dishes healthy foo?
4) Which food group do these foods belong to? Write proteins, vegetables, grains, fruits or
dairy for each example.

Broccoli, peas, beef, pasta, bread, soya milk, oatmeal, nuts pineapples, melon, cereal, chicken,
yoghurt, pears, cheese, oranges, black beans, lettuce, eggs, spinach, strawberries, yucca,
potatoes, carrots, veggie, burgers, tomatoes, milk.
