The pain of seeing her daughter face a major opportunity due to a

software glitch.

Lose the opportunity to continue your studies, and you are likely

to face problems in other areas of your life in the future.

Could the problem with Mike's account have been a result of an

action by a sweng?
Of course, the software engineer did not follow the protocols and

quality standards of the software he developed.

Taking into account what we said about ethics could any of the

scenarios you imagined involve an ethical failure of the engineer

responsible?
Yes, there may be an imaginary situation where the developer for

some reason doesn't want to do the testing phase, maybe

because of his laziness or something, but it's irresponsible and it's

a moral failure .

Who are the various stakeholders in this scenario? And what do they have a stake

in your action?
The first stakeholder here and probably the most important is the government that

contracted the company you work for. Other stakeholders would be your
supervisors and military forces. Also, the people inside and outside the country

could be interested in your project, being destroyed or applied. The government

and their military forces expect that you complete the project successfully without

any problems as your supervisors as well. And the other people are divided,

probably the population of that country wants you to fail or to abandon the project.

And other people outside want to see if your project has the potential to avoid

possible crimes and attacks to apply it in their countries, also the family wants the

best for you.

What do you think is your ethical obligation in this situation?
Even if I don’t like the reasons for this project to be implemented I would say that

my ethical obligation is to complete the program and fulfill with the expectations.

But I would try to talk about it with my supervisors, if there is a chance or skip the

project.
What do you think an excellent SW ENG would do in this situation?
As I said before I think an excellent SW ENG would do the project without

questions and develop an excellent product, the Software Engineer is there for

developing not for questioning ethical situations.
